so after a wee bit of research ive came across a couple making or talking about making custom cold airboxs. either with cutting a hole in the bottom of the air box and vent down to where the smic sat. also sealing off your filter and cutting a hole in the hood like i found in this thread http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/custom-fabrication/406700-air-box-scaveging-effect.html

i am curious and havent been able to find anything on this yet but has anyone thought of or have made an intake setup like on the evos pictured below. but obvisouly on the passenger side for 1g/2g dsm's.

Yea I guess if I wanted to be like most people that do that I could....but figured I wouldn't mind being a little bit different.

My "love it or hate it" intake system for my 2G. Sealed air box, only gets air from a 3" hole on the bottom of the box that has a hose to that velocity stack poking out the factory foglight hole. Like I said you either love it or hate it

Mine's just an over the top version of the EVO's, just remove that v-stack and it's the same. Of course if you mean the vent in the nose of the car right under the hood, wouldn't make any difference between there or the foglight/intercoolie hole

Hideki. How to you get away with that here in Cali?

Never had any problems. Wastegate vents through the bumper, bright red pipes, buncha crap under the hood, yadda yadda. Passes smog, don't get all the fuss about cali.

Only reason I'm glad to be in Michigan... Can change alot of things on cars and it's fine. Except for a loud exhaust they may bust you for if they feel like it. Or "blue" headlights

oh no ill never do that LOL. my 95awd has the 97 front bumper, twisty side skirts and normal 95 rear bumper. then in the wickerbill thread i would like to do that. in the near future i would like to take a 97 rear bumper and smooth it out. take out those bumps that stick out. i like the bottom on a 97 rear. if that makes sense? if not ill post up some pics and try to better describe it.
