without a dsm i could probably get to where I need to go but whats the fun in that? :p

I walk away from mine for 5 years, I recently got the car running again with a nice JDM motor and have really enjoyed driving it. Boost and 30 mpg is pretty awesome after driving two 1 ton pickups for the last 4 years.

My life without a DSM, consists of me pretending I still have one.

I'm still logged on to dsmtuners, I'm still a mod, and I'm still going to a DSM meet tomorrow. :D

Life without a dsm constitutes constantly having to hold back on buying ANOTHER one!

However, I am picking up a 335i with some of the cash that I just got from selling my 2g :)

if i hadn't got a dsm i'd be driving a 1987 suzuki samurai with a supercharged ls1 in it. it was either get the gst or do the ls swap. but if i hadn't got my dsm i probably wouldn't be at UTI considering the add in import tuner for uti had a silver dsm in it that caught my eye and made me look into the school.

Life for me without a dsm consists of me doing everything possible to acquire one. Yes I own one, but it's 8 hundred miles away in pieces and haven't figured out how to go get it while i'm not allowed out of the county..? :( So i worked my ass off to get my hands on anything dsm i could. I got a 6 bolt block a 7 bolt long block, some intake mani's, turbo, tranny, coils, sensors, starters, lots of extra shit. Then me and my girl got another 95 gsx a few months back. We were together for over 2 years and were friends 4 years before that. I didn't think she would do what she did.....She paid about 1500 on the car since we got it, and i paid the rest (2500). She took everything and put the title into her name only. Then i work a deal with her to where I pay her 1700 and I get the car back. So cross your fingers for me and hope this works out good for me soon. She'll still have all the extra motor parts and stuff but I should get the car :) ......So simply put... I'm sacrificing thousands of dollars of valuable things (not all car related)...for this dsm. When it ends up in my driveway i'll have "paid" 10k easy for it. If she keeps all the rest of my belongings, wich i'm 99% sure she will. Sad...but love hurts, and the love for the dsm is much better than the love for her :)

Life without DSMs is browsing Craiglist looking for my past DSMs. After the first Evo I didn't look much though... but now my second Evo is in the shop, I'm pondering buying another 1G.

I wouldn't have a car to keep looking back at and smiling as your walking away from it. =) I <3 my DSM's! And my VR4

Another way is life without DSM's is you online watching videos of DSM's all the time, and can't wait to get your own someday.

So live without a dsm, and doing ANYTHING to get one.

Saturday: Get up and drive an hour to get to the 2nd home. Call to pick up the gsx, no problems. Get everything ready, and get a call about 1/2 an hour later, saying no you can't come get your car. So I find someone else to put it back together enough to roll it out of their driveway so i can get it. All fine and good it seems...then I look and the driver's side axle had popped out from rolling it. Great. Find trailer....no luck. Drive 1/2 an hour to get car dolly. Good. Load car, good. Get to driveway, good. Start pullin the dolley out from under the car, no good!! The brake line broke on the truck. This episode started at 8 am. Its 5:20 and I have to go to my other home in 40 mins, and get the car in the garage and trailer back to its home somehow. So I call the trusty grandma and see if my friend can use her truck. We get the car and parts in the garage and i drop my friend off to get the grandma's truck. Good. He hooks up the trailer. Good. Goes to gas station to buy beer for renting the trailer, looks back and had somehow plugged the lights in to where the wires on the truck side all snapped about 6" back from the connector. So now I have a broken dsm, a broken truck, need to re-wire grandma's truck, and a volvo that's got a bad wheel bearing and end link. But to no avail, I got the dsm, and i'm happy as all hell still!!! :)

If I didn't own my DSM I would probably own a classic car.

v v

If I didn't have a DSM I'd be driving some kind of affordable European sports car like an Alfa Romeo or a Triumph, my driving record wouldn't be in the toilet, and I would be focusing on more substantial priorities in my life. I know for a fact when I was in a serious relationship my DSM (at that time) took some heavy criticism from my ex.

Conversely in many ways working on my DSM has been a great source for relieving life's stresses, has helped spawn new friendships and enabled me to improve my virtually nonexistent mechanical abilities. In the end I find DSM's are just well built machines, yes I can live without it but I just don't want to.
