Did you check the recall status?? If it hasn't been done then the dealer/Mitsu should pay for it!

no just that and a bit to the bottom of the fener and side skirt cap. The thing is i had an appointment with the dealer on thursday to perform the recall because it had not been done to my car yet so i had the car towed to the dealership.

I actually just finished putting the new ball joints in on my car. Didn't realize until I started unbolting things that my curved control arms (forget what they are called exactly) look like they are leaking at the ball joint there as well.

Glad yours didn't give out while going faster or anything. I wish the dealership would have done mine haha.

That is why Regular checkups on steering components is always good!

Sucks to hear, hope it works out!

I was actually going about 40 mph hah but not too much damage just on the side skirt cap and fender but the dealer still hasn't call me about it so i will give them a call tomorrow morning and see what's going on.

That messed up part is that i already had set up an appointment with the dealer for this Thursday to "inspect" the car to see if it did need to have the recall performed, thats why i had the tow truck just drop it off at the dealership so they should repair the ball joint under recall, right?

Correct. If it has not been done. It does not matter what they look like, they have to replace them as per DOT.

If they give you any issues about this at all (delays, payment, etc) call the corporate Mitsu number and talk with a rep there.

I had an issue with a local dealer over this issue. They stated that the car was too old. I called the corporate Mitsu number talked with a rep, within 3 hours a tow truck took my car to another dealer replaced them and towed it back to me...

Think im going to call the mitsu-dealership tomorrow to check and see if my car has the recall done. You think the dealership will try and lie if it has not been done?

It's the police run...

Ouch dude that blows, but I would fix both sides and find out if the Car's recall has been done..

Only if its free..Well the ball joint is free but I would get the other side ball joint done as well just to be safe..

are they going to fix your side skirts and fender as well?
