I wanted to do a quick post and say goodbye to all the great dsmers out there. I appreciate all the help and what I have learned here. I also have helped out a lot and will miss doing so.

I have been away for about a year. I had some clutch issues, let the car sit over night and someone broke out my windows, tore up my interior and stripped anything they could worth somthing.

I got mad at the car and parked it in my backyard for the last year. After multiple trannys, motors, heads, clutches in the last 11 years I finally gave up. I then pulled the turbo/mani setup and sold it to my friend. I finally pulled the motor out to find the ACT clutch disk's teeth stripped completely off.

Im parting it out, motor is going to a friend, tranny to my brother and the rest will be sold here, ebay, craigslist.

New project is a 1996 Toyota 4runner limited. With the money I make I'm getting a full adjustable rock crawling suspension lift, and some armor (bumpers, rocksliders). Ive been having fun with my new toy and offroading is my new pashion.

I hope to come back one day but most likely will get an Evo of some sort, so its close.

Goodbye!

Damn bro sucks to hear! I can understand how you feel though, and as time goes by people change their interests. Hope you enjoy your next endeavor, don't be a stranger to the site though! I don't even own a DSM anymore and I still frequent the site to see what kind of mayhem is going on.. Generally I just hit up the main page and check out the recent discussions.. if I see something interesting I'll read it up, if it's really really interesting I'll chime in! Lol!

Anyway bro good luck with what you try next, I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with the yota! Looking forward to another DSMer convert to an Evo though.. Most DSMers turned into Evo owners are the ones who aren't snobs, LOL! Gatta stay true to your roots! :)

Jay, I wanna hear more about your personal opinions/experiences with non-projected plugs. I'm in a similar boat, selling my 2G a few months ago after 11 years. I'm looking at a GSX or Colt or Evo or BMW. But I'll still be around regardless of what I do because these are my roots. I can only hope you do the same. :) Farewell. Take care and good luck... and come back to post pix!!!!!! :thumb:

I feel ya.

I just could never let me GST go after owning a couple more DSMs, STis, and Evos. I'm about to finally put it up for sale, probably really cheap to get rid of it. It just sits there looking sad. :(

Good luck amigo. I'm looking for an Evo too..

Always a sad moment leaving something behind that you do or once loved! Ive had my car for 5 years and run into endless problems that get under my skin and make me think of dropping it all! But never turn that way because im too attached! But if my money was right i might move on to something nicer and hopefully less stressful, BMW E30 or the like!
But I will always love my 93 Talon as I hope you will too!
I hope all works well for you and best of luck with what you have coming to you!

Stop by and visit every now and then, JayRolla! I'm not active with my DSM anymore (opposite sides of the country), but it's fun to pop in every so often :)

Good luck with the 4runner! Unless money is really tight in the future I plan to keep my DSM as long as I can keep it running. My long term plans are to get an Evo for a DD and turn the Talon into a track car (since it'll be much cheaper when I break it). Either way, have fun with other cars for awhile, but I'm sure you'll end up with either an Evo or another DSM eventually. LOL

That sucks sorry about your luck, I like your dsm looks identical to my eclipse same color and year.

Everyone comes back sooner or later.

Sorry about your luck and good luck with the 4Runner. Still chime in when you get the chance too!

This. Once you get into a decently put together DSM, you'll get the itch again.

The dsm itch is like herpes. Just when you thought it was gone. ITS BACK!!!
Good luck and have fun with your new toy. Definatley do not forget us or the dsm scene. They will always make hondas and nissans and toyotas. Dsms are dead. Its up to the few who dare take on the rust, boostleaks, waterleaks, ecu failures and bad tunes to make these cars worth something. I've thought about selling my current dsm. But only to buy another one or something already 4g63 swapped.

You'll be back... at some point and time I think all dsmsers that leave come back or highly consider coming back.

Thanks for all the love guys. I will stick around, I feel bad I have not been around just too put my .02 cents in. LOL. I actually had a few tears roll once the motor was out and I knew it was going to be gone.

I still am stuck around it. My brother has a 1g, my buddys have galants, evos, starquests, you name it. I live down the street from Jackstransmissions so they are everywhere.

I think if I do come back to a 1g or 2g dsm it will be full drag. Auto tranny, roll cage, hx40, nitrous, the whole works. I still never got to run the hx40. Was so close and always sold stuff because I needed the cash.

I will post pics of my 4runner soon, before and after once I get the lift kit installed.

It's sad to see you go man. We used to live down the street from each other!

I sold my talon too..... only because I bought a 98 GSX with 95K and a 6 bolt swap! I'm getting the HX40 I bought installed now. What do you say I come pick you up when it's done and take you for a ride. See if you get the itch again? :D

Sounds good!! I would love that. My brothers car has been down for about a year now and hes going to be back on the road along with another one of my buddys. So I do down but two others come back. LOL

Here are some pics of the new project. I just put these 32" Treadwright retread tires. $340 shipped to my door!

Also through in a pic of my first dsm I bought when I was 18. My brother got his when I was 16. I had a full size 86 bronco but sold it and got the 91 Panda after falling in love with his.

Nice man that looks like a nice 4runner you've got there.. I'm sure she'll treat you well. 4 wheeling is a ton of fun also.

That talon was clean!

Clean from that angle, LOL. Yea ive had the 4runner for over a year and Ive done nothing except brakes that I believe had 50000 miles on them. Just drove 1700 miles up too yellowstone national park and she ran flawless. 192000 miles and all parts look oem original.

Well I bit the bullet and let the tranny go. The motor is next. Funny when I started hitting up craigslist I keep seeing good 1g's for cheap that needs a motor or tranny. So tempting but I didnt budge. I need something new. Even when you get a new DSM it feels the same, I need this change for a little.
