Took off my timing belt and cylinder head. Cleaned out the cylinder head really good. Replaced the stretched stock head bolts with some arp studs. Trimmed my motor mount to clear the exhaust manifold studs. Replaced the head gasket with a cometic MLS. Put the head back on and the timing belt back on. I'd say I had a full day.

And this was the first time I have EVER taken the cylinder head off of ANY car. I'm glad I got to share that with my DSM. :hellyeah:

Did a compression test today trying to figure out my low vac at idle and boost dropping down to 5psi on a stock set up. Compression test results indicate #4 cylinder has bad rings. Frustrating setting in but what did I expect, it's a DSM for crying out loud.

Thinking my t25 is bad and will soon be putting my 16g back on, once I pass my state ref ticket of course :)

I installed my fidanza cam gears. I know this isn't a Q/A but did I do it right cause the slashes for the adjustment came out on bottom I com paired the timing marks to my stock gears and they were corect but the slashes are still on bottom

Looks like your 180 degrees off. The dowels should be at the top not the bottom. Were your cam gears new or used?

OHHHH what have i done OMG

Finally got her back running and then off of the jack stand baller status! Took it for a test drive wheel bearing in the front started to grind so back to jack stands but only for the night just picking up brake pads in the morning and getting her back in the road :thumb:

Swapped out the pink wheels the PO put on for some white 1gb's. Washed/clayed/buffed/waxed, re finished window trim with plasti-dip spray (looks very close to OEM)

I beat the living crap out of her on the way to work this morning.

i drove mine 250 miles today hauling a friend around to go look at a 95 gsx he was thinking about buying. wednesday i do it again because he is buying it. LOL

Yesterday I removed the front bumper, the smic and its piping to make room for the front mount :hellyeah:

Today will be the actual install

Drove to work today no problems

installed my rear disc brake conversion last night finally after having it for like 2 months :ohdamn:

Two years of looking at my Evo Brembos in the closet I finally got them ON the car. After all the grinding to get the brackets to fit onto the OE 2g knuckle I'm probably going to be pulling metal slivers out of my skin for the next 6 months.

I see lots and lots of 4G63 owners! Fellow 420A owners, where art thou? LOL im just kiddin'!

I did quite a few things to my DSM today! I removed the cylinder head and all corresponding gaskets, lines and fluids. I also found sand inside the cylinders! yes, sand! lots of wet, white foam too, with really nasty black, carbon build up deposits. I even found actual mold! needless to say engine is totally filthy. :ohdamn: I will take pictures to show just how nasty it looks.

Not sure if any of you are aware, but my DSM was hydrolocked since febuary and i am currently rebuilding it by myself.

BTW, how do i post pics up so that they show on threads?

This happens to be a mainly 4g63 forum. Just how the user base turns out.
As for pictures hit advanced reply and under the text box there's an option to attach files

As for me. Didn't touch the dsm's today. Have to fix the A4q's before i can start on the gsx's. At least they're Turbo awd so that sorta counts LOL

Looked at it, wiped some dust off with my finger then went on fedex's site to see where my flywheels at

Applied high temp and clear coat to some pipes, now letting the whole thing dry before one more run in the heat enclosure. :D Yes I know the tips aren't the same color, I keep them that way to get better seal with couplers.

Picked up my head from sim, sanded the hood prep for paint, shopped pistons, rings, and crank, painted interior door trim. Painted engine bay.

Got a new oem carbon fiber hood!!!! Yeah!!!!!!!

Pictures please!

Looks legit; I am sure it brakes like a dream now.

I love the front vent you made for the fmic. How did youmake it, an do you have more pics of ityou could post? and did you cut the side for the piping?

Installed meth/water injection today. Original washer fluid broke so I rigged up a temp bottle.

Replaced my 1 bad axle and both outer tie rod ends. Didn't realize how bad the one tie rod end was until I got the thing in the air and shook the tire. It was scary, that thing was almost apart.
