Does anyone know how 17x9 Cobra wheels would do on a 97 gsx?

The bolt pattern matches and I'm not sure about the off set. Another question will I be able to turn as well?

Where the rolled fenders and spacers come in at. There's plenty of threads on here for wheel fitment. Learn to use the search engine.

Well seeings how you wasted your time and tried to help me at first I figured you could help me with another question. Since you've been on this site more then three days. But i guess ill just go use the search engine.

Lol. You have to think, spacers and rolled fenders will allow you the room needed and for the wide wheels, the extended studs come in. You may have to shave down some suspension components but you will know once you put them on.

Alright then, I don't want to shave down anything LOL.

It's not always going to happen. Some have had to, some haven't. Some run a 10mm spacer, ARP studs, and rolled fenders on 9.5" QTP's and don't rub when turning or scrap the well unless it's a pretty big bump.

Right ok then, thanks a lot guys.

I had 17x8 Mustang GT wheels on mine but 17x9 would probably rub badly. I had a blow out and found a used P215/55/R17 to put back on and every time i hit a large bump with a passenger in the car, the tire scrubs the bar in the back.

I think any mustang wheels don't look right on a DSM.

They are OK but I prefer an aftermarket style wheel design. I ended up going back to factory wheels cause I had another tire blow on the 17's Finding a Used P215/50/R17 around my area was hard. One of my factory wheels is slightly bent around the edge of the rim so I hope I can straighten it out or find a replacement.

Well I've just seen a guy running 17x9's and it looked really good but, I'm pretty sure it's a track car only, so on the streets it may not go so well. I'll just have to try it out and see what I have to do.

I have to disagree some mustang wheels look pretty good on a dsm, at least a 2g.
