Sadly I am looking at having to part out before I even get my project complete. I have bought over 10,000 in parts and then 3,500 for the 2g and I will probably never even drive it. Just got my own place and am trying to pay for all the appliances, furniture and whatever else without going broke but its not going so wellROFL. On top of that I am going to college when I get home and since I am getting out of the military I will have to pay for it myself..... This is seriously like the most depressing part of my life. But I guess some things are more important and there is always next time hopefully. Even if I do part out and get rid all the evidence of ever being a dsm freak I'll definatley still get on tuners on a daily basis and read all the threads that have helped my days fly by this past year being away from home.

You'll be back...and you should have went ahead and posted in the "Quitters" thread. :p

Happens to a lot of us. I was in the same spot earlier this year, finally can start looking for another 1g now that things have settled down a bit. But damn, 10k is a lot of cheese to spend on a car, when you weren't even moved out. Priorities are a part of growing up yo :hellyeah:

unless you had a dishonorable discharge...you can still get the GI to cover college.

good luck with what the future holds man

ROFL Thanks alot dude!

John-unless you had a dishonorable discharge...you can still get the GI to cover college.

Yeah I had someone remind me of that.... It will put a dent in the cost but it's better than nothing for sure.

96awd- I'm trying to keep a positive attitude about it..... Hopefully I can just sell the car and keep all the other stuff so I don't take a huge hit.

Constant- A simple build kinda went a little extreme:D.... I wanted a 10/9 sec timeslip so badly that I really was sparing no expense.... Was pretty stupid of me.

So why not just sell all the performance parts and keep the talon? I think I could do without a 10/9 sec car if it means I can still have spirited drives with it daily. You may even get more money back from selling off the performance parts than the car itself. Good luck whatever you do though.

the heck dude?

Well if you want to sell the 2g let me know, if I have the spare money I might try to pick it up haha

Are you crazy? You dont have to pay for college.. You still get your GI Bill..

You are misinformed. I was active duty and now guard and I used my GI bill (CHAPTER 30) for school plus my state has a tuition exempt if you're a veteran so that took care of my tuition. Used my GI bill money to live off of and other misc cost like school fees. You will not be eligible for the CHAPTER 30 as you were not ACTIVE DUTY even though you were on Title 10 ACTIVE ORDERS. You are eligible for the GI bill Kicker through the Guard its called Chapter 1606/1607 (one of the 2) i forgot what the amount is something around 600-900 range. Talk to you education officer and find out all your options.

Don't be afraid to use all the desk weenies that the military has EVERYWHERE.

Their SOLE purpose is to set you up for success, you just have to ask the questions.

Best of luck to you! I'll be ETS'ing in two more months :thumb:

it sucks that they make you men and women have to ask the right questions to get the benefits you have earned. These people should be beating down your door to tell you everything they can do for you. I was never in the service, but I respect everyone that ever was. I'm not saying I couldn't have done the things some of you had to do, but I sure am glad I had the choice not to.

Don't forget to research scholarships in your area of study. You never know where free money will come from. The great thing is that if you get a scholarship, you can still get you GI bill money in most cases.

Yeah I'm really hoping that I find away to pay for all of these other things and still get to keep the car!!! I have probably 3k or so worth of parts to get rid of that where from my old setup and the bolt ons,6bolt engine and stock awd tranny in my 2g so that should help alot hopefully!! I am seriously praying at night that I get this figured out LOL!!

My girlfriend just sent me a bunch of pictures of the car that I have only seen in person for a split second and it looks so good in the pictures I don't know if I can sell it!!! Ah the humanity!!!!!

Yeah I have a few buddies I know from school that get everything paid. Heck, one I know still hasn't gone to basic training and he's a guard. But lmk on that 6 bolt engine :D

Selling some extra parts to help pay off the puppy I got:D..... One step closer to keeping my car!!
