hello everyone i gave a question this is my first post i have smoke under the hood of my 95 tsi here is the stuff dun to the car it has a fp big t28 and 680cc injectors also a Wilburn 255 fuel pump aftermarket fuel lines and pressure regulator greddys bov and i have smoke coming from the back of the block i suspect the head gasket but i am not loosing any oil or coolant i cant see exactly were the smoke is coming from but it happens when it warms up could it be some thing real simple to fix or am i correct and start ripping head off any help would be greatly appropriated

There are two coolant lines that run to your throttlebody, I'd check those hoses, they are much thicker than the vac lines and should stand out, it they drip onto your intake manifold it will steam.

k i will check that out and i see smoke out the tail pipe too not tons but enough to notice it could that be caused from not enough cooling to the turbo

thanks for the help fingers are crossed LOL i really don't want to do a head gasket right now

yes the houses are old looking cant find a leak but i am changing them anyways but i still have smoke out the tail pipe and there is no moisture at tail pipe just black soot so i am not sure at a loss the smoke is what is telling me the head gasket is shot it doesn't look like burning oil it is a light color and it doesn't smell like oil either

could it all be caused buy an injector leak the smoke i mean or a vac leak

with further inspection it looks like the smoke might be coming from my injectors and i smell fuel if get close to the tapit cover would that cause smoke out tail pipe as well as under hood i changed the hose and it isnt stem it smels like fuel the smoke under the hood

What type of smoke are you experiencing from your tail pipe? What is the color, and also the odor?

After you turn your car off and leave it sitting for a bit, are there any oil or coolant stains anywhere under your engine? My advice would be to try to replicate the problem by running the engine while you use a flashlight to look around where you suspect the smoke to be coming from. There is either oil or coolant dripping onto your exhaust. Just take a look while the motor is running. You should see something.

nope no leaks it is white and smells like steam this all came about after i flushed the rad i ran straight water in it for the day and now it is smoking and i seen moisture at tail pipe when i started it this more there was liquid at tail pipe im just hoping i didnt blow my turbo
if so i guess i will throw 500hp at her this time LOL

i seem to be fixin lots but i love this car and to be honest im 40 and i think they are the best for power and like the look so i will fix it and own it for as long as ii can afford it LOL this car gave me a new respect for the four cyl i tell ya

when i start the car it smokes very little smoke but as it warms up it smokes and still seems to have turbo seems to spool slow for a t28 would the turbo cause the smoke if it was needing a rebuild

hello every one i have pulled the number 1 spark plug and it has signs of over fueling i am not sure how to set it right on this car it has aftermarket fuel pressure regulator and greedy blow off valve and Manuel boost controller and i under stand they have to be set a certain way to all work together and i am thinking that is my problem for the over fueling

I found oil in my number one and 2 exhaust ports so that is the valve seals if i am correct right

You could have many diffirent issues, a bad head gasket could cause white smoke from the exhaust(are you low on coolant?exhaust smell sweet?), I also think a bad PCV system could also do that(has your oil dipstick ever poped out or does oil seep past it?).

I'm sure you are probably running rich with larger then stock injectors and no way of tuning, If I were you I would start doing some maintinence(find the cause of your under the hood smoke first) and look into getting some kind of tune or tuning device for your larger injectors. :thumb:
