What are obx stage 1 cams? That's not specs for a cam pair. That's just jargon for what those guys think is a mild build cam. . . Post specs for the cams, or you just going to get speculation.

Stage 1 Intake Camshaft - 242 duration, .354 lift with factory rockers
Stage 1 Exhaust Camshaft - 242 duration, .354 life with factory rockers

i wouldnt even waste money on obx cams, given the specs it doesnt even sound like an upgrade. Spend a little extra an buy a set of dks regrinds.

If you want the max out of them I'd get a tune. You have a wide band?

then seeing as though some companies stage 1 and even stage 2 grinds( bc and hks) dont require a tune, u would not be required to tune it. especially since the duration is 242 degrees and other companies are 264's. to max out any set up though it requires tuning

is installing cams difficult? and will it mess with the timing?

installing cams is very straight foward, if you dont have a haynes or chilton book get one bc it contains all of your torque specs and will serve you as a guide. if not just go to vfaqs and they have a write up also. it will not mess up your timing as long as you keep your gears from moving. good luck to you

Those cams arn't very aggressive at all. And . . . . . you are saying "bro". . . That makes this thread funny :) . . . Are you serious? If so, then stop with the buddy-buddy additions alluding to the fact that you'd believe anyone who gave you the answer you want:|

You need to degree your cams for YOUR setup; THAT is what makes power. . . After that, its just spouting numbers to the guy next to you and showing receipts 'cause they don't 'believe'. What are your goals?

The more air may lean you out a bit. The leaner the meaner though as long as its not to lean. Those camaraderie are not that aggressive though so is say no. You have a obdII scanner. Or go to autozone and see what you short term file trim is.before and after.

well.. for some reason my OBD2 port doesnt work and my scanner wont connect to the car, thats just another problem ill have to deal with later.

You can have fun with out a cam upgrade at all. . . You dont have racing goals?

i've never been at a track so i cant say i wanna beat my last time so, pretty much i've just been rivaling with my friend and not lose to your everyday rice burner. oh and i loooove the sound of cams

most times the obd port wont read because of a blown fuse. something to look into

yeah would be great if i got that fixed LOL so i can get my car tuned when needed or pass inspection..

Just throwing my .02 out there... I have heard bad things around this forum about obx cams for our engines. I mean they cant even make a manifold that fits right for our cars that they say fits our cars. Based solely on that I would NOT use them for the internals of my engine even if it was free!

I say throw em on ebay make a quick buck and buy real cams!

Good luck!

Never said they wont work or fit just that I wouldn't trust them for too long. My example was to show their craftsmanship or lack there of.

If your going to do it pick up a shop manual or chiltons. Its all layed out in there torque specs and all.
