If I wasn't worried about having a 4door car so I can take my son places I would so jump on this idea. How awesome would a 3g 2.4L block, EVO head and 5spd trans with a DSM AWD drivetrain be? I would put an eagle symbol on it just to confuse people. Call it my Eagleution! haha.

If your looking for a 4 door car, you could always use a 7g galant (same as 2g eclipse) or 8g galant (same as 3g eclipse) and perform a 4g63/4 AWD swap.

There is a member on here with a GSX swapped 7g, but as far as i know the 8g hasn't been attempted.

Oh, and the Evo drivetrain shares the gearing of the A/T GSX, so if you want a cheaper alternative to paying for an Evo rear diff its an option.

I really like the 4g63t evo 8 swapped 3g. Best to do it using the V6 model cause the sub frame and its mounts are slighty different. They might be able to use the vr-4 galant from Japan front sub frame for awd.

As far as i know everyone that has done the EVO swap has used the 4g64 model du to the fact that the engine mounts and accessories are already made for the 4G6* engines. Plus rewiring the entire electrical system is different between the 4cyl 3g and the V6 3g. (not even guage clusters are interchangable, wired differently).

A JDM galant vr4 swapped 3g does exist but it is from overseas, they started with the V6 model. But since the VR4 engine is the 6A13TT and the 3g is 6G72, the electricals were a bi***, and from what i gather, the entire car needed to be rewired anyway.

Oh, and the 4cyl and V6 3g eclipse/8g galant share the same exact mounting locations in the chassis so there isnt any difference when mounting either engine in.
