Hey guys!

Having some trouble really finding the answers Im looking for on here. I am doing an auto build with a stroker motor and am thinking about an SMIM. From what Ive HEARD, the autos don't really like them and it wont help me out much as it will shift my powerband, but Im not really finding much info on it. The main components of my build are...

2.3 block
FP 3065 turbo
HKS 272 cams
build IPT auto trans on stock converter
FP race mani

and of course many other parts I am just thinking of what would really effect this question. As of now I just have a stock intake manifold.

If you could shed any light on what exactly its going to change and whether or not you'd reccomend it, thatd be great!

thanks! :thumb:

It might hurt stall, but it's going to help top end. I'll be adding a JMF Drag to my car in a couple weeks, so I'll let you know how much different it is.

What converter are you planning on running?

With a completely stock converter you aren't going to stall it, at all. I'd consider looking around locally or getting one from IPT.

Contact John at IPT and he would give you a straight answer and not someone's opinion from here. Every person has a slightly different build and what works for them might not work so good for you. I bought my first auto upgrade from level 10 (back in 02), and my second auto from John at IPT, the second was so much better. And I also got the performance converter from John and it was awesome. My stock converter wasn't holding up to a e316g at 24psi. The IPT and converter fixed my slipping, and firmed up the shifts ALOT. Good luck!
