Hey I have a 96 GST and I am having over heating problems only when its hot outside that is. All winter and before it started to get hot out car ran with no problem. When on the high way or just driving for a long time the temp gauge started to go up and down. Here are my list of mods got a FP exhaust manifold 16g turbo punishment racing FMIC ebay o2 dump Megan racing full exhaust. Now what do you guys think it might be? Need anymore info from me just ask? Could really use help to fix the problem car is pretty useless in the summer unless i get this fixed!

Now my thought is since the FP exhaust manifold isn't covered and close to the top radiator hose its causing it to get hot and have a front mount the engine isn't getting the air it needs on top of the outside heat not helping. Now my idea is to heat wrap or paint the Manifold to help cool it down and buy a aluminum radiator.
Not trying to spend a lot of money cause don't really have much to spend now which will be a better radiator upgrade?

if the temp rises and then just drops and repeats again and again.. sounds like a bad thermostat... the thermostat could be opening late, when the temp is already high reason why the temp goes back down when it does open..

You could do this instead of buying a new radiator:

The thermostat is new not even a year old and only does it in warm weather other then that its good think maybe its temp sensor?

sorry for my ignorance.. i read it but didnt process it.. try this..

my friend once installed a FMIC and had bad ventilation going to the radiator which caused similar issues..
