I just sent my ecu off, and ordered all my parts, so i should be good to go by latest wednesday of next week

Awesome. Be great to see what she'll do in the 1/8th. Not expecting much out of mine right now. It's having some clutch and tranny issues. Buy hopefully ill be able to get a solid run for a baseline time before I do anything else to it. Im hoping for low 9s. But we shall see.

Ya it's been awhile since i drove a 5 speed, and this one has a 2900 clutch in it. It's gunna be a learning exsperience LOL. I'm hopeing for some good numbers

That should hit real hard then. No reason you can't get low 8s

Awesome.18th it is. Now, is Elgin drag strip good? Or some where else?

I would be guessing Elgin would be good. I have never been there before. Is the track a very low populated track?

It a decent track. But the owner just never marketed it well. It boomed well when it was first built Because their is a huge drag racing community here locally. But the owner was stupid and stops letting guys being their own grills out, trying to be greedy so they have to buy his consessions. And so other disagreements. So the local drag racing association doesn't support his track. So unless there is a special event race going on, there is only a few cars that run mostly for test and tune. So its great for that.

Also there used to be a slight dip in the right hand lane, but they fixed that. And so of the really fast guys complain that there is not enough stopping room at the end of the track. But I have personally seen 5 second 1/8 mile cars with only front brakes stop with no problem.

I will give it a shot for the 18th. I should have the new trans in but I don't know if I will have enough break in miles by that time to run it down the track.

Sounds like fun history LOL. Im looking forward to racing that holset :D

Yeah. I hear ya. You want at least 1000 miles to break in before heavy racing.

So whos gunna be running just me ; ;. If it's gunna just be me. We should go to a more populated track, so we could watch some races

Bad news boys! Looks like there is no way I'm gonna have the car ready by the 18th. I'm gonna try my best, but just looking at my schedule and the cost of the parts and work I'm gonna need... I don't see it happening.

well it came with no engine. so I bought a block, crank, rods pistons, bearings, blah blah blah... then I realized that I have no oil pump. My head needs worked, and I gotta pull the tranny to put it all back in right. It just seems every time I think I'm getting there, something else is needed.

That's how it goes.
