nice find man, forget the negative comments!! Its what most call a project!! Not everyone can come across garage kept stock dsm's, at least the motor is stock and not abused like most kids do to them these days!

I would be happy with this one, im wanting a 2g bad, and ill deal with one like this cause i know ill restore it back to normal!! ;) Im actually looking for a 2gb Talon but this is a hard find!

good luck with everything, and welcome in to the world of boost! :pP

i love the world of boost now that i have all the boost leaks fixed. all thats left to do now is pads rotors calipers and rewire the radio harness and what ever random wire under the dash ive found. i know the car is a great find. the negative comments dont really bother me. i got a worse when i was trying to build a 420a. im very happy with the car. will be on the road monday or tuesday at the latest:D

good to hear man.. and ya some people are softies, just cant tell who the hard ones are. haha

i swapped a 6bolt into my 93 DL(1.8L) and got a ton of shit while i was in the process!!
Got it done and its a head turner!

thats whats up. i know what you mean. i got alot of crap about my 420a. all and all im happy with the buy

1500 is a steal if all that's wrong with it is wiring and boost/exhaust leaks. I hope that's all there is.

Silver is the best color for a 2g IMO. Throw some nice wheels on there and start boosting!

4 spare rims and tires, broken trim, faded paint, hazy headlights, monster truck status, stock 7 bolt motor...

Id hardly say you took the right step in the world. Best of luck bruh.

All of those things are easy fixes. Not to mention the fact that a stock 7 bolt is better than a modded one. Plus its stock height so he can drop it to his likings instead of it already being done by the previous owner.

Make sure everything is fixed properly and then do a BLT.
After that, go see how much you like AWD. I'm gonna say you'll like it alot :p

haha i hope so. i loved my buddys gsx. i know i have boost leaks. thought i had them all taken care of. the stock piping and clamps are bad. a buddy is selling me a set of hard piping that will fit a smic. and a 1g crushed bov. once i put those on it should fix my problems. other than that as of right now the car is road ready. cant wait to get her on the road

I love my "monster truck" status. It rides half-way descent and I can get in/out of driveways! On top of that my front number clears those curb things in parking spots so I don't have to worry about the wife putting my FMIC into it.
Speaking of pipes/clamps and BLT's I bought a VRSF for $300 shipped, it cured almost every boost leak I had. I love the t-bolts and it's flanged for what ever bov you want! If it has a stock 2g bov you will want to ditch that as fast as you can, I can't say that I have ever ran across a plastic 2g that didn't start to leak after 9psi..

Good luck, and for $1500 you could part it out for more than that! Happy boosting!

thanks for the input and i will deff keep that in mind. right now a buddy is going to sell me a set of smic hard pipes that support a 1g bov. i have a crushed 1g bov actually sitting on the desk infront of me. thats just going to be on for the time being until i build up enough green to do everything i want to the car. i dont want to add things as i go. im just going to start collecting everything for a full build so when winter time comes ill have everything i need so i dont have to wait on something simple just to finish the engine.

this was pretty much what i started out with, then i wrecked it and now im finishing up everything, you are def on a good path i=without rust i love my gsx but the strut tower repair was a pain

i havent done my research on the what turbo set up. i was thinking about going with a big 16g. but if im going as far doing a full build i think im going to want something bigger than that. i have plenty of time to do more research. i have a pretty good idea on what im going to do with the bottom end. still doing research on the top end.

heres a question. i know the 2g bov can only support 9 maybe 10 lbs and a 1 g bov is a good idea to go with. but my question is what is the difference between a crushed and none crushed? what does it benifit being crushed?

this was pretty much what i started out with, then i wrecked it and now im finishing up everything, you are def on a good path i=without rust i love my gsx but the strut tower repair was a pain

i guess i lucked out. my gs was pretty clean and the strut towers were in good condition. and the gsx is by far cleaner than the gs is

Any updates with the boost leaks? Have you installed the hardpiping yet? I'd like to see pics of a virgin DSM's motor bay with just the hardpiping.

i just installed the hard piping about 2 hours ago. ill post some pictures up tomorrow when find a place to better mount the fuse box. i have the 1g bov installed as well.

the first is the day i got it. and the second is how it sits as of last night

Very clean man!!! Are you gonna use the spark plug wire cover? ### I would love to get an OEM one :)

a 1g bov will support something like 20 psi, a crushed 1g bov will support somewhere like 25-26.

thank you. i did more research on it. im only sitting around 15 lbs right now. i dont plan to go any farther than that anytime soon. found a few more bugs

a 1g bov will support something like 20 psi, a crushed 1g bov will support somewhere like 25-26.

and i was talking about the spark plug wire cover. sorry i didnt specify

drove the car for the first time today. went to the dam store to get some smokes and soemthing to drink and came out to find a nice decent dent on the driver quarter. some prick felt the need to back into me. other than that the car drives great despite a bad ball joint. all the boost leaks are fixed besides 2 stripped mani bolts. those will be taken car of tomorrow. btw the tick i was talking about earlier in this post was a exhaust leak coming from a broken exhaust mani gasket. where i found was missing 2 studs do to the holes being stripped. and the stud for mounting the turbo to the mani is broken. all of that will be fixed tomorrow. as for the dent. well all i can say is i feel sorry for the guy who backed into me. i know the car and plate number :) ima jump in my gs and back into him
