there was a good 25 cars. it was a good turnout i think? but lets hope the next one will be larger. i brought half of the crowd,. the parking lot was large, and there was no traffic in and out of the area. afterwards we all gathered at chilis for some food. it was a good time.

Glad you had a good time John. Its was very nice meeting everyone and can't wait for the next meet/event. The first one was about 7 of us and this one like John said was about 25 so the next on should be a good one. The weather is getting better and hopefully the DSM should be coming out of hibernation. Hey trying to set up the next event/meet. I am looking at doing a track meet this time at island raceway as per suggestion by you guys. Now I want to know what time and day would be best for u guys. They have Friday night racing, or we can do saturday or sunday.

Every Friday night throughout the season, we open our gates to all street legal vehicles in order provide a safe and controlled environment for anyone to race their street car. Come and race your friends, set up grudge races and see how fast your car REALLY is.
NO COPS.

JUST YOU AND THE GREEN LIGHT!
Gates open 6pm
Racing 6:30-10:30
NO MAXIMUM ON RUNS (Get as many runs down the track as you can during our operating times)
NO Pre-Registration required

Pricing:
Car/Driver: $25
Spectator: $10

Rules and Regulations

There are a few simple rules that everyone must follow on our Street Legal Nights.

- Muffled vehicles only. Slicks are allowed. Car must be less than 90 dB from 100 feet away.

- Seat belts are required. Helmets (Snell 2000 or better) are required. Long pants and a shirt are required. Motorcycles MUST have a full faced helmet, minimum leather jacket, gloves and boots, and long pants. Motorcycles quicker than 120mph MUST ALSO have leather pants.
- Anyone 17 years of age MUST have a parental consent form signed and on file prior to racing. Click here to download. Must be printed out in color, signed and notarized if signed off premises.

Track rentals are Monday - Friday, 10am-4pm. Prices include starter, tower personel, EMTs, Firemen, and tech inspectors. Snack bar is not open, so BBQs are permitted. A $600 deposit is required to reserve a day, final payment is due upon arrival, before any cars go down the track.

Children are discouraged from attending. If children are present they MUST be under constant adult supervision. Children ARE NOT permitted to ride any wheeled vehicle/ toy/ etc.
All NHRA and NEW JERSEY RACING CONTROL UNIT rules and regulations are in effect.

The following rates are for up to 12 cars:

1 Lane: $1600
2 Lanes: $2000

$50/car after the first 12, up to 20 cars.

Prep:

Minimal Prep included on starting line and concrete pad.
Both lanes, full 1/4 - $1200
Full Single lane - $600
1/8 mile single lane - $300
subject to weekly price fluctuation of glue

ex: 20 cars, 2 lanes, each lane half prepped, it would be $3000

20 cars, 1 lane, half prepped would be $2200.

i would be game, but we need to get atleast 40+ ppl to attend, what are the odds?

I've owned my 95gst for 3 years now, and have never been to a meet. I live in northern westchester and I've seen maybe one other modded dsm in the area. This being said, it would be nice to see a bunch of dsm's in one parking lot! Let's try to set something up for the near future, it's getting nice out!

Im down for the track rental, and I could get a bunch of other awd mitsus there too.

Hey guys I was just throwing the track rental thing out there as a suggesting and to see what people thought of it. Its hard enough to get 5-9 dsmers together let alone 20-40. I am down to just go to the track and pay the 20-30 dollars each for the day. Just wanted your thoughts on the idea. I will call though to get all the details on what exactly is involved to rent the track for a day and how many people when can have.

Is anyone interested in attending any of these events?

I'm all for the track rental. I think we still need to do more meets in random places like we have been doing a few more times. Way I see it, the more we do it... more people will start to show up. Eventually we'll have meets that'll be very GRAND, we're still just starting.

Yea, deffinatly need to get a couple more meets setup. The last one was pretty good, some more heads would be sick. The meets would also kinda show a set of committed people to come out to the track if we ever decided to rent.

I'm going to be at the English town event on the 30th and the 1st.

i will try and get out there. but i am thinking this car show in newburgh on sunday. i have to get use to my car locally, its to much for me to handle.

Going to try and set up more meets hopefully we can get a weekly thing going. Just been a bit busy my son is due May 17. So will be M.I.A for awhile but please let me know.

Hey sorry guys I haven't been able to make it to any of the meets. My DSM has been down since December and I just finally finished working on it like 2 weeks ago. Its up and running now so I will try my best to make it to the next meet at Island racetrack. I live in Brooklyn so depending on how far it is will determine if I will be able to show or not.

I should have my Bit*h up and goin next weekend, we should get a meet together!

Cause of the lack of response to the track meet it most likely not going to happen. So lets try and do another meet before an track meets and we can disgust it then. Since we have people in Queens, Brooklyn and upstate I feel meeting a meet in Yonkers would meet everyone half way. So lets try for for next Sunday may around 4 - 5 o'clock at my shop. 145 Saw Mill river rd Yonkers NY it has a good size parking lot.
