Only one problem I see with that. In higher hp applications knock would be pretty hard to avoid. Opening the intake tract with the exhaust still exiting the cylinder COULD potentientally cause predetonation and backfire through the intake. Not a bad idea for a daily, unmodified street car though.

It's really Honda's new "VTEC 2" system. No more will Hondas be laughed at for having no torque.
The bad news is there will be no Hondas or Acuras with this system.
Hondas are almost too easy to troll
I really like the idea though.

1. That is not anti-lag. A pet peeve is when people use that term in the wrong manner. Also a 2-step and anti-lag system are completely different if you didn't know.
2. Almost all cars use this technology already, scavenging is nothing new. They assume valves open and close at the prefect time but almost all cams have some type of tiny overlap, even stock cars.
