For a little less than the cost of getting your injectors cleaned and balanced, you can make a tool that lets you clean all the injectors you want. You won't get feedback about how "balanced" they are... but if they were balanced to begin with, what's throwing them off? Right.

Thanks to inspiration from Plymouthlaser.com (ThankyouCharles), I built an injector cleaner to fix a problem I had with a 6-year old brand new set that had never been used. It's nothing like his, but he did the electrical research that made it possible.

These injectors just sat in a box, and one or two were kinduv sticky. This fixed my issue. There are 3 videos, but I'm only posting two (2nd & Third). Some of you have probably seen them already. I'm just posting them here for people too stubborn to get a YouTube account or subscribe. :ohdamn:

Whats funny is I saw you posted this the other day just a few hours after upload, you always make good stuff - keep them coming!

LOL I have watched all three already. man your are awesome. Thanks for servicing our community with your videos. keep them coming.

He seems to be an alright guy LOL!!! My work schedule still sucks so no telling when I will be able to catch up with you. Good job as always on the vids.

You should make this tech article..It would be real easy to find then..

I'm not exactly sure how to go about doing this. Perhaps I should have paid more attention over the years. You'll see I don't post much... but I thought a moderator had to move it to the tech articles, or pre-qualify it... Can I just post tech articles?

Also, thanks guys. I knew lots of you subscribed, and I appreciate the support. I'm really no different than the rest of you here posting your experiences and helping people out. Not everybody does the YouTube thing, and many people looking for answers come here first. It's hard to discuss problems in 500 characters or less, but I make videos because I don't have to type all this crap. :D If a picture's worth a thousand words, what's 15 minutes of 1080HD video worth at 30fps?

But really, before I go blabbering stuff on video, I usually check myself against your experiences posted here and in other venues, and against a '97 Mitsu service manual. If I find a gap, I try to fill it... but really these videos are mostly of what I'm running into on my upgrade path. Occasionally you'll see me here asking questions when I venture into the unknown... I'm no "better at DSMs" than anyone else, I just have a bitchin' $4000 camera, 7 Macs, a climate-controlled garage with air tools and a little bit of time on my hands. :)

soooo can i just send you my injectors when they get dirty :D LOL. Awesome video and tool. Keep up the great work.

:D

Actually my customer service is terrible. ROFL

With the expense of BG cleaning fluid, shipping and the fact that I can't provide their flow rates or any performance feedback, I'd recommend using a professional service. I just wanted mine working immediately, so I took matters into my own hands.

You're welcome to come over and use it!!!! :aha:

Very cool of you to post that, and it's a lot simpler than how i've been doing them the last few years (i use a fuel pump and a 12v power supply with the 3/8th hose) Except before the pressure cleaning i set them in the ultra sonic cleaner and use the injector harness to open them up for about 60 seconds or so using a 5volt power, then once all four are full i give them about a half hour in the ultra sonic to shake ( the ultra sonic is fulled with B12 Chemtool Dip you get in the gallon jug)

Then after they come out i put a fuel pump in the gallon jug of chem dip, and put b12 chemtool through them at the max pressure the pump pushes (pump is from a non return setup and has it's pressure release built itto it) I've noticed the same as you about the injector not opening at much presusure on low voltage... two things you can do there.. Go with a 9v batter (just solder a 9v connector from radio shack in place of the AA battery) or use a 12v power supply (mine is an old ATX PC supply that i've converted and has +3, +5, +12 and -12v supplies and you can mix and match them for different combos...e,g. the -12 "red" lead and the +5v red lead = 7v and since the injector can't tell positive from negative grounds ro which is which you can hook it up either way as you said)

Being some one who's done my fair share of instructional video, I feel i am safe with sayin the DSM community owes ya a little something (not meaning dollars just saying at least a thanks) because iu'm sure you've got several hours in just sitting and editing and doing the voice over track on those video

Kudos to you my man, and i'm gonna use you're air pressure setup from now on to force my cleaner through (the pump is a PITA to setup and use honestly) and that way i can use a 9v for my injector openings and do away with the ATX supply :D (with a 9v you can push around 70psi or so and the injector will still open - I like pushing the fluid through at higher pressures jsut to feel more assured that I've "pressure washed" all the crap out of them

not trying to overtalk your thread or anything, just wanted to share the way i've been doin it, so that those without the tools to make the bracket to hold the injector might pick up the hint to hose clamp 3/8 fuel line right to the injector. And to say i'm so impressed by your "cleaning fluid chamber" that i'm gonna build one too (except instead of buying pipe and caps and looking for the govt van, i'm just gonne weld up some flat round pieces to some 1.5" tubing i have LOL

ONe thing i noticed you preached but didn't practice.. You said "carmalize the shrink tube to taste" well, you sir DID NOT TASTE THE SHRINK TUBING ONCE IN THAT VIDEO LOL just messin with ya, I got a kick outof all the refferences from cooking shows and your creative narration :D

thanks again
