So like the title states, I had to move away from DDing the Talon and move into something that was newer, more reliable, and gets better gas mileage. Since the 2011 model year is drawing to a close, dealers are looking to move the last of their stock so I was able to snag a great deal. Unfortunately this meant that the pickings were slim for a manual and I wound up with an auto. The bright side is this now alllows the Talon to become the weekend toy. :D It will be odd daily driving anything other than a DSM since they're all I've owned since turning 16 many moons ago. In case anyone is interested (my guess is no), here is the new whip.

Ohh you traitor. I'm gonna tell yes I am. LOL Good find and now you may now have some piece in your life having a dependable dd. Also the gas milage improvement will be nice.

My buddy has one of those as his DD and its really a great car. His was an 09 leftover so he got a really good deal on it.

I really wished I moved on one of these earlier this year when I was commuting 90 miles a day and buying gas every other day but that was back when gas was cheap - $2.75/gal  It's hard though because this Civic is so damn slow compared to the Talon even with its blown head gasket. Oh well, I guess I'll get used to what other Civic owners call "fast". ROFL

Looks pretty sharp. Too bad it isn't a manual, but A/T is usually better for DD anyway.

BTW I love my Honda, which has vtec stickers on the side, don't tell anyone here tho ;)

no its time for the body kit neons big wing and a whole lot of stickers and you can have your self a 500hp dd haha

There's nothing wrong with a Civic as a DD, especially the current body style. I know a few people who DD those and they are great for that.

I dont have that much money for a new one but I just picked up a bone stock 97 civic ex coupe gets 36mpg compared to my gsx 14mpg so i cant complain amd the auto is relaxing too I have to say :)

Nice DD you got there I got a 4 door Integra and a full tank of gas last me a little over a week. A lot better then driving my gsx.

Not gonna lie, Honda in the past 3 years has impressed me more than any other car company in it's class. You cannot go wrong with that civic for a daily.

I got a civic for a dd not to long ago also. It looks exactly like that, same color and everything. It allowed me to convert the dsm to E-85 so I couldn't be happier. It does good with gas, and its comfortable can't argue with that. Lol.

We bought an 11' 2 door a few weeks ago. Honda is rolling out the redesign 2012 model this month and they want to get rid of the 2011. I don't like the 2012 and we got a great deal on ours including the .9%. So I'm only paying like $325 in interest over the life of the loan.

Also the Auto gets better MPG than the manual just so you know. The only complaints that I have for the car compared to my Versa is that the cabin feels real cramped also the road noise is horrid.

What did you end up paying?

Oh and this is the fiance's car not mine, she had it a week and already a crease is in the passenger door...

I'm paying a little over $19k after it's all said and done. It's a little steep for a Civic but that includes the car plus the optional "S" package that adds the rear spoiler, 16" alloys with upgraded Continental sport all-seasons, SI interior, and chrome exhaust tip (yeah yeah). I'm only leasing the car to bring the monthly payment down to a manageable level, $228/mo, with 0% interest. The whole goal was to have a reliable daily and save for something better in 3 years - and put the Talon out to stud.

When your leasing - if shit breaks doesn't the deal have to fix it?

Yeah incase anything catastrophic happens...like the planets align and your transmission cracks leaks its fluid binds up seizes the engine world ends type warranty LOL. Definitely a benefit for a DD.

My buddy paid just under 16K for his, but it does not have the "S" package. Also, he bought his when the car dealerships were really struggling a few years back so they gave him the extended warranty and free maintenace as long as he has the vehicle.

Pretty much like any new car.
Leasing is smart if someone doesn't keep a car for the length of the loan or longer because if you don't pay off the loan you're only renting the same car at a higher price.

We got ours for 14k and $250/mo. Its got pw pl auto, cd, aux, cc, but steel wheels. Im going to look for stock civic wheels.

The first thing I did when we bought it was peel the pin striping off and tell their detail department not to touch it since their whole used and new lots had buffer induced swirls.
