I'm in need of a new crankshaft sprocket, mine's hacked. I've searched a few online sources and can't come across one...does anyone know a part number or where I could acquire one?

Also, it's necessary to replace the bedplate bolts, correct? If so, same thing- Where can I find these or does anyone know a part number? Thanks for any help!

Ahh thank you. I couldn't get DSM Graveyard to load recently...

Also another quick question- I'll be assembling the cams onto my head today. Is it a good idea to use loctite on the cam cap bolts? Not the permanent stuff, obviously.

No, just torque them to the FSM's recommendation: 9ft-lbs.

chrysler? may even be the same part number.

Thanks for the help, fellas.

Another one- I hope to take my block to the machine shop on monday to get it checked for cracks, decked, and bored .020 over for my JE pistons. I'll be doing the assembly with a buddy, so my question- Is there any reason the shop would need the pistons/rods for the boring process?

Okay, thanks for the help. So will they actually need to assemble it or do they just need the pistons to measure? I'd rather not take in the crank, bearings, etc and do the assembly myself. I don't plan on having it balanced, just bored over.

Thay need them to measure and if your not getting it balanced thay shouldn't need anything else.

Yep, I agree.

Sometimes the piston manufacturer includes a sheet with the recommended specs (I know JE does) with your pistons. If you give your machinist that sheet, he shouldn't even need the pistons.

I just had my motor machined for JE pistons 0.20 over and it came out great. Just give them the paper work that comes with the pistons and they will bore it to spec. I even got them to gap the rings while they were at it.
