I flashed a 99 GSX with this code and tuned with the MAF to get it somewhat dialed in. Car runs good. Wanting to go SD so here is my question:

I kept both the MAF and MAP sensor hooked up and datalogged both MAFcount and SDcount. They were similar and all. As a test, I unhooked the MAF sensor and the SDcounts went really high while MAFcounts went to zero as expected. This caused the car to get stupid rich.

I tried to adjust the SD VE map down since the entire map is set at 100%. This did not help either. Is there something that I need to setup correctly to get this to work. Is there a good base SD VE map for a stock engine to go by? Do I not have the setup bits setup correctly to use SD? The map sensor is a omni 4bar and I used the tutorial on Ceddys website to set it up.

Thanks for any help with this.

Did you flash to the SD rom? You can't just unhook the airflow sensor and go, you gotta run the rom that's specifically for SD.

I downloaded the latest version here: http://ceddy.us/?page_id=16

as per the website:

"An extra step I have taken is try to make everything more universal and compact.
Trying to get all the definitions and patches together for Evo can be a hassle because they have multiple roms and patches and definitions for each rom.
I have tried to remedy this by having one universal rom for the DSMs (20550011), and one definition with everything in it. And one group of Mods with all the patches in it.
This allows you to download one .ZIP file, and have everything you need."

I followed the instructions on the site as to where to place the files.

The SD options are in the ROM that I was using. Is there another ROM that I am not aware of??

Not just trying to unhook and go, I was doing some testing to see if it was going to work properly.

Any help is appreciated.

(I have also made a thread in this section of the forum)

You need a SD rom for Speed Density.

MAF roms have "MAF" in their name. Example -> 20550011-mod-1v9Cb-MAF.hex

Speed Density roms have "SD" in their name.

I'm currently busy doing a set of mods for the Evo5/6 ecus, but when finished will do a How To for Speed Density and get back to the DSM mods.

The first step for SD is building your VE% map by logging AirCnt % Change.

Trying to run SD with the stock VE% map (all 100%), you will most likely destroy your motor very quickly. Thats why I don't have the SD rom posted for public download. I wait for a potential SD user to send me their VE% maps first, that way I know the user has at least some understanding on how to set up and tune this style SD. Just posting the SD rom for public download might do more harm then good I'm afraid, and the potential and amount of damage could be pretty high when not set up properly..

Ahh ok. Thanks for clearing that up. When I get a chance I will make some logs and start building VE map for the car. When I get the map where it needs to be I will send it to you.

Duh at me not seeing "MAF" in that file name.

i flash ECU with new Cedy rom 20550011-mod-1v9Cb car pull to red line like crazy @ 24PSI i fill big different between 1v8b and 1v9Cb version .
nice job Ceddy.

Hey guys trying to flash a 99GSX and it keeps coming up with this error.

I have no idea what the problem was I plugged an extra 98 ecu in i had lying around and the same flash worked. There isnt any special with the 99 ecu is there? Both ecus I flashed before this were 98s. I never did a 99 before.

Saving this as a BookMark for studying. I'm in the market for a 2g ECU and the second I read up on the Ceddy's page about Speed Density, I was sold! Since my car was already setup for Speed Density just didn't have an ecu nor maf Sensor. Seems like the viable solution to my problems. Thanks! :hellyeah:

This is what came up when I bricked my ecu. Wasn't able to find any way to fix it/reflash it. Found out later that I had a bad connection/low battery voltage to the ecu while I was trying to flash that caused it.

i have a innovate lc-1 in my gsx, im now working with ceddy mods on ecuflash and logging with evoscan, but i dont know how to make evoscan logs my AFRs directly from ecu

i already connected the yellow cable of the lc-1(analog output 1) to the rear o2 sensor pin, and program the output to work as a wide band( this output is programed as a narrow band by default)

log with evoscan and nothing happens on the afr there

if somebody has it working, please help me.

I am starting to tune a friend's dsm who just put a super charger in it and will be using Ceddy mod and speed density for the job. I hope to get it running fine with your help, guys

Did you change EvoScan's formula to accomodate a wideband 0-5v signal? Did the Rear O2 reading work before (ensuring the MUT request was right)?

Okay guys, new to flashing, but i am running into a reoccuring problem. i downloaded http://ceddy.us/wp-content/uploads/CeddyMods_1v9Cb.rar and my ecuflash screen/ceddymods dosent include half the stuff shown in pic... the only thing mine shows is launch control, launch control antilag, cel on knock, and map select. No boost gauge upgrade or anything else. Is there something im doing wrong??

Change your User Level.

File -> Options -> User Level -> Advanced

Okay, i got it to show me everything. My next question is, which map will my car run on? The only reason i ask this is because the BIG MAPS section is all jumbled numbers. Also, for some reason, i have to scale my evo560cc injectors down to 450's just to idle, then anything after 15psi it runs lean and wont richen up

What about running a blowthru MAF setup with ceddy mod. We dont have it as easy as the DSMlink v3 guys do we? Do we still need a maf translator for a GM maf to work with Ceddy mod. Any info would be great.

You don't need the translator, but you'd have to scale MAF size and MAF sensor filtering to dial in the GM. Not exactly easy.

You can't run a GM MAF without out a Translator.

The GM MAFs frequency output isn't compatible with our ecus.

Even with DSMLink you need their cable/translator.

So to get the GM maf to work properly with ceddy mod we need the translator, where as DSMLink you can use there cable and they have a conversion/translator of some sort built into DSMLink? Correct me if im wrong.

Is it just dsm ecu's then? I'm almost postive we had guys on club3g running a hardwired GM MAF without the translator.

Edit: Ecmlink makes a hardwire cable to use the MAF without the translator...
