Define "a lot of pressure". The cooling system is supposed to pressurize under normal operating conditions.

Might be normal operating pressure. If its a lot more than that I would look at a possible head gasket issue that is pressurizing the coolant system.

that is normal. like posted above there is supposed to be pressure in the cooling system.

One item you may want to take a look at is the radiator cap. If it sticks closed then it won't let excess coolant go back to the reservoir. Does the reservoir level change during different conditions like when the engines hot or cold?

Is your car overheating? Are you losing coolant?

If not, then the pressure is normal. The cooling system is supposed to be pressurized. The hoses will seem to swell a little bit, and become "stiff" as you say when it's at temperature.
