I had no other ideas why my 97 gs could be running so crappy. The timing all lines up but i decided to pull the valvecover thinking maybe the previous owner installed the cam gears wrong or something. I pulled the cam gears to see where the pins were because something didnt look right. After looking through lots of threads i think my problem is that my crower stage 2 cams are actually for a neon! I just want to get the car together so i grabbed the stock cams and the intake cam doesnt fit because the right end of the cam is too wide and wont fit into the groove behind the cam end plug. Do i have two exhaust cams? In the second picture you can see what i mean about the cam being to wide to fit in the intake spot. The pictures were taken with the holes in the cams all facing up. The stock cams are on the left, and the crowers are on the right.

far left and far right look like they are the right ones.. imo.. hard to tell..my reasoning is the cam holes are str8 up, , as well as the dowel pins, and the lobes are 180 from each other, seems to make sense to me, but i could be wrong..

but the cams on the right are what i believe r neon cams, ive been told neon cams wont work. Maybe only the neon exhaust cam wont work since the pin and hole is in the wrong location??

well neon intakes are on the front and exhaust on the back. so the cams are on opposite sides....

why would head orientation matter with the cams?

off crower site. different specs. but the heads are different.

i don't know the exact differences between the heads but crower specifies 2 different sets of cams for the 2 heads....must be differences.

yes, they are different. the pin in the exhaust cam is in the wrong place, but the pin to hole location are correct for intake cam. does anyone know if the intake will work?
