But for Staind I think it was the heavy stuff that came early that was forced.
Could be, but something about seeing a rock band turn to country leaves a feeling like finding out the person you're dating had a sex change operation.
Any other classics I'm missing?
Uncle Buck and P, T, & A are my faves of the list you gave. John Candy was one of the greatest comedians of that era.

Has she seen the entire "Vacation" movie series from the 80's (Vacation, European, Christmas)? How about the Back to the Future movies? I love watching all three of those, in order, on a rainy Sunday.

I think she's at least seen Chrismas vacation. The day I found out she had not seen Back to the Future I went out and bought the trilogy and we watched all 3 in a row, haha! This was about 3 months ago.
The only reason I have the Fly on there is because she hurt her toe and I said her nail was going to fall off like in the Fly... and she had no idea what I was talking about. :ohdamn:

Am I the only one who's mildy hard???? 0.o

In all seriousness, dear god make it stop.

UNCLE F*CKING BUCK! You're my hero, Erik.

It's not a case of whether the Aaron Lewis song is good or not....but if you listen to how all of Staind's music progressed since the Mudshovel days you'll see why he is now doing country.

I don't know if these guys are just rednecks that gave rock music an honest effort, or if they're seeing it as a business venture to move on to country once their rock careers are played out....bringing all of their die-hard fans with them and making new fans in the country world as well. Maybe they're smart and I'm stupid, but I think guys that sell out their rock careers for country are p*ssies.

I think you nailed it with "..rednecks that gave rock music an honest effort", at least as far as Aaron Lewis is concerned. Much like his other acoustic songs like outside, It's been a while, etc; the video doesn't do the song justice compared to when he plays them live.

The country record is a solo venture, Staind has a new record coming in a year or so. In this interview Aaron Lewis talks about how he's always been influenced by country music and how this solo album is a chance for him to go back to his roots.

As far as how Staind's music progressed over the years, he blames the label. His lyrics in Country Boy speak on it:

Now it’s been 12 years since I’ve sold my soul to the devil in L.A.
He said sign your name here on the dotted line and your songs they all will play.
He set up shop on Sunset, he put me up at the Marquee
he said "you want to sell a million records boy, you better listen to me".
He said "change your style, whiten your smile, you could lose a couple pounds

if you want to live this life you better lose that wife. do you need your friends around?"

And I said no that’s not me.

Yeah, she's not even close to 'pretty'. Blow job at best when she ages another 7 years.

Yeah, so, I work Saturdays. Screw you guys.
