my buddy just traded his jeep that needed a rebuild for a 2001 eclipse (3g) after driving it my opinion has deffinatly changed. LOL i know i would never get rid of my 1g for one but now i have a little soft spot for them :sneaky:

v6 3.0 it's automatic with slap stick. I really like how responsive the trans is like it shifts instantly and the car was a little more peppy then I expected.

Buddy of mine has a 02 eclipse gt. Definitely not a bad car and not as slow as I thought. 5 speed manual trans with few bolt ons. Really clean car.

I drove my buddies 4G64 5spd and it wasn't bad. The car looks okay. I think the only reason 3g's get a bad rep is because of their history. Eclipse's were machines, then the 3g was just a car. I know that if they would have ever made a 3G in AWD I would have bought one.

yeah my buddy's has a full custom dual exhaust and an intake. the car is super clean and I actually like it LOL I never thought I would like a 3g. I'm thinking about picking one up as a DD.

Plus the 4cyl ones actually have a 4g64 that is capable with the evo 4-8 DOHC head. Plus their rear suspension is the same as the FWD 2G's, which means that you can swap in the AWD gas tank, and rear sub-frame; throw in the evo trans, and rear differential; boom 2.4L 4G63.5 3g GSX.

i think if they would have made 3g's awd things would have been different and their reputation would have been way better.

What was the point of this thread? To drag out the same useless conversation again? Keep these things to yourself people.

You technically just did the same thing you told us not to do like share your opinion.:thumb:

Whaaaaat?

I knew about the evo head. I saw some video's on youtube of AWD 3G's. Is that really how they did it? Looks like I'll be on google for most of the night just to figure this out.

Found it!

Here is a list of non 3G Parts used for the swap:

2G rear subframe
2G Control Arms
2G Rear Axles
2G Gas tank
2G Diff Plate
2G Diff Hub
2G E-brakes
Evo 8 Trany
Evo 8 Transfer case
Evo 8 Drive Shaft
Evo 8 Front Axles
Evo 8 Front Knuckles
Evo 8 Rear Diff
Evo 8 Oil pan
Evo 8 Starter
Evo 8 Brakes
Evo 8 FlyWheel, ACT
Evo 8 Clutch, ACT
Evo 8 Clutch Slave

Does the 3G use dual-wishbone suspension on all 4 corners?

I know I know, I could research...

Opposed to a solid axle?
I'm sure its the same as our cars.... BUT, I have no problem looking. I like learning new stuff. Even if it isn't with our cars. Give me a couple minutes.

As opposed to MacPherson set up's like our 1G's..

That took a little while to find. Other forums have a whole bunch of trash to sort through. I'm glad Tuners is the way that it is.

2G control arms are for the rear, along with axles & brake assembly. Front is stock.

Besides the fact that your statement was very hypocritical, that's what the hangout is for...

Talk about being dense.

yeah usdm 3g, and 8g(galant) have the macphearson strut design.

Talk about being dense.

Why do you always try and start arguements? Obviously people like the thread if more then one person replied to it, im sorry but your over ruled on this one. And please dont try and argue with me because i dont care.

SpawnedX has sand in his vag!na, leave him be.

hangout shmangout. At least all this bicker isn't in tech forums.

What is the difference between Auto and 5spd rear ends on the 2G AWD?
I just read that the 3G needs an auto rear end...

"I know for them they are needing the altered bell housing, the Evo T-Case, and a full rear end from an A/T 2nd Gen GSX."
