It's all about a good tune. A very good friend of mine has also gone 10.7@138 with almost an identical setup sans the turbo (he has the Holset HX40) in his 2G FWD. Bone stock long block other than cams. Good tuning is key.

everyone! Give this man a round. no matter what people may say, he has taken his stock motor to a level that guys with built motors have never seen. Congrats again. Hope to see you in the nines very soon.

man thats very impressive but like almost everyone saaid its all the tune and the driver congrates man.

Congrats Todd, remember you and your car up in North Bay a few years ago.I ran into you and Kevin.I had the black 1g if you remember.Keep gunning for the 9s!

Just curious if anyone knows if these guys with stock headbolds torque them any tighter than stock.

A friend of mine ran a completely stock junkyard motor with 180k miles for at least two years of hard running over 40lbs of boost. The only thing he did was pull the head, put a new head gasket on and retorque the stock head bolts to I believe 110-120 ft/lbs.:sneaky: I know he went over 100 ft/lbs for sure. The car was sick... trapping 135-140 mph. And he ran the shit out of it too, hotlapping was the norm for that car. Knowing how simple his setup was and seeing how well that stock motor with stock headbolts ran really opened my eyes to how stout these little engines really are.:D:hellyeah:

We torque the head to 95lbs on our stock block project car (ostar motorsports)

1.42 60' on a heavy car with a single disk... Thats nutty! All factory suspension as well? Is that the full faced disc? Or puck style?

Congrats! :hellyeah:

It was a full face Kevlar disc from South Bend. It was slipping on those runs though. I torque my head bolts to 95ft.lbs.

Very impressive, care to share the type of AFR's and timing curve you were running> if not it's cool, tuning is just my main interest in cars/engines, always been wanting to push over 30psi cause my turbo doesnt' flow well till past then and i'm on standard ARP's and composite gasket and just too affraid to boost that high without running seriousely low timing numbers,

I remember a buschur record setting pump gas tune of like 600 WHP from years back running only 6* peak timing.

My AFR was in tune for pump with pure meth via M14 and M12 nozzles. 1000cc injectors were at 120% duty. Timing maxed out at 23 degrees. I like timing. Some people don't. Keep in mind this is with a stock 7.8:1 piston.

Add 200lbs to the car weight and use an HP calculator to estimate HP based on the pass. I'm guessing around 600 HP.
