Hey dsm tuners, I'm a noob to the site but this isn't my first dsm. So long story short, I bought my 95 eagle talon tsi from a kid who had no idea what he was doing, he blew the turbo, and when I bought it a couple weeks ago, said the only thing wrong was the turbo. So I replaced the turbo, the oil feed line, the exhaust manifold and gasket, installed ngk plugs and 7mm wires. After all of that, I couldn't get it to start. Triple checked the firing order, bought a new battery but I couldn't get the car to start. It would crank but not fire up. After banging my head for several hours, I sprayed starting fluid into the air intake and she started but died out after the starting fluid burned out. So now Ive checked and I don't hear the pump prime wheni turn the key. After reading thru several threads, I'm sure its either the fuel pump or the fuel pump relay. I'd like to check the relay before replacing the pump but I have no idea where it I'd. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The relay that you are looking for is located below the radio on the passenger side of the car. it is a bronze box about 1 inch by two inches bolted to the little metal panel supporting the dash to the floor. If I had a picture, I would send it to you.

I had the exact same issue but my car was running and then after a day or serious rain and a few errands everything was kosher till the next day. I drive to my bank when I get to the bank go in get out try to start the car then no start tested battery pop clutch everything wasn't gonna go any where. After a flat bed puts a huge crack on the bumper pulling it onto the flat bed I make it home.

I get to workin on it thought it was the fuel pump bench tested it, it worked so I Check a white connector tested that and they where fine and I tested the black connector it was sending power so I tested a relay that was between them and I tested that and it worked when I reconneted them all it sdidnt work. I decided to remove the relay and connect the other two wires turns out the car started and it was fine it was a relay for a alarm fuel kill switch which is creative but wasn't well installed. The reason why I tested all thoughs connects is because they where soaked in water I don't know how water gets in there but did. Also i dryed the connectors and they worked. The connectors aren't water resistant & are not protected so they could be wet. Even though the car runs and I haven't had the issue since I did the fix except that my fuel gauge stopped working since I removed the relay gas light works so that's how I can tell when I'm empty

sorry but the story telling. I just was explaining the situation in detail I used to get ragged for that back on my old Honda forums. Thanks for reading this hope it helps!:thumb::aha:

i found the bronze box you were talking about and disconnected it and removed it. the only problem is its not the same piece that autozone showed me. i bought a haynes repair manual (necessary expense), and the picture they show is too grainy to really see
