I never adjusted anything, I was just trying to flash the rom for ceddy mod 1.9 onto my ecu. I had a battery charger on the battery cause i heard a low battery during flashing can brick the ecu. When I went to flash for the first time the message I wrote in my other reply is what showed up in ECUflash

did you try reading the ECU either before or after trying to flash the rom??? if not just try reading the rom and see what happens. if it reads fine then just try making a small change to the stock rom and flashing that back to the ECU. i read the rom in my ECU just about every time i go to flash just to make sure i have a solid connection...

Did you check the pcb code on the actual ECU board if it has the correct code to flash it? You will probably get that error message if it doesnt match. As Ceddy has posted in his other thread:

PCB Codes must match to be Flash compatible.
If they don't match, you will brick it and have an expensive paper weight.
(Don't ask how I know this)

H8 DSM Compatible
1998 -> JE331B156C
1999 -> JE331B156D
2000 -> Unknown, probably JE331B156E

2001+ are SH-2 like the Evos, not compatible with H8s.

I had this same error a few months ago, opened the ECU and it found it wasnt compatible(Lost $100 there). Ended up buying another ECU, had seller open ecu and take pics of PCB to make sure it was compatible. Bought it and it works great.

Also, if the car starts up with the ECU in it i'm pretty sure its not bricked.. Just not flashable as was the case for me. Mine works fine in my 97 but if I try to flash it ill get the error you posted.

No I have not checked the number. My car was built late 97 and had the flash connector so I just assumed it was flashable. I will check the number and see if is one listed for flashing. If not I guess I will have to buy another ECU that is flashable

If its a plastic ecu then its flashable.

Not true. Some of the late 99 ecus are plastic but not flashable. you have to either get a 98 or check the PCB of the 99. If you get a 99 ecu out of a car with white gauge faces it might not be flashable.

The PCB codes are on www.ceddy.us or earlier in this thread.

So this is basically ceddy whole Rom with v1.9, just with the patches added for emissions?

:) "for off road use only"

so all 98 ecu's are flashable?

Yes if it is a 98 ecu with the correct part number it is flashable.

They switched pcb halfway through 99 without changing the part number. So the only way to tell a 99 is to open it up and look at the pcb code.

Some Mitsu cars switched to the 7203 CPU in late 99 to 2000.

But every black case DSM I've seen has the normal 7202 CPU. Its mostly the Evo5/6 guys that have to be careful and check the CPU.

If you want to check the CPU, it should say MH7202F.
If it says MH7203FA you have the newer, not compatable CPU.

CPU is the largest black square on the board.

Hey guys. Just wanted to say that the problem is solved. This might be helpful to somebody so I will write it down.

It appeared that the diagnosis connector on my buddy's car had a loose connector and it didn't connect to the open port cable right. It was one of the two data buses. So we could log using EvoScan which reads only one of the data buses, but couldn't read and flash rom because it needs both or at least the other one.

So he uploaded successfully ceddy mod 1.9 and we are starting to tune it these days for a super charger maps :)

Then we will try to read the rom out of the euro spec ECU so, Ceddy, if you are interested in taking a snap at it we could send it to you :)

Alright I just started tuning with Ecuflash and now have some questions with getting the injectors dialed in. Im have PTE 550's and I took the base setting of ceddys website of 535 flow and add .180 mSec. Now when I do this and start up and drive it is running rich 12.1-13.1. The o2 is also not switching it stuck at .0053. Now im under the assumption that I need to bring my ms down to make the mixture leaner. Also when you are doing this how much should you adjust. .005?? .010?? .020?? Any info will help

I am also having a similar problem as listed above. Except, when i scale my injectors (MD560) and set the -.048 Lacency, my car will barely idle. I have to set them at 450cc and even then, my car wont run out throughout the rpm range like it should.

Anyone else have any suggestions on the pin? I also need help with somequestions about a 99 Ecu in a 97 if anyone who's really educated on the subject can pm me..

looks interesting, to bad this wasn't around like 5 years ago LOL

Yes FlashPort is just one wire. You will need to add a pin to your ecu harness at pin 79.
I added a wire with a 2.5mm audio plug. It plugs right in to the OP 2.0.

You must be logged in to view this image or video.

There, its fairly easy to make a flashport connector. Just go to a junk yard and pull a pin wire out and make your own. There's other pins on the car that aren't used necessary just search the forums and find out. Or someone else can add too what they are.

Ok so got a quick question... Im trying to finish up setting up the injector tune and im a little confused.... My fuel trim control points are not the same as on Ceddy.us... My unaltered map reads Low->Mid 88 Mid->Low 75 Mid->High 188 High->Mid 175....Ceddy.us reads Low->Mid 112 Mid->Low 100 Mid->High 1594 High->Mid 1594

Which 1 do I use???

Use the first one you said. The second one is the stock setting which never allows you to get into your high trim.

Well now I wish I would have looked back 1 page when you asked the same question basically haha Thanks though.. Now to work on timing tune!

EDIT: Ok so ive got my fuels trims worked out very good and im happy with them but im still running tinto a little problem... AFR matchs fuel table until I hit about 4500rpm then it starts to lean out and by 5000rpm im at 11.3-11.5 AFR with 10-13 counts of knock. Any ideas on this?

running Evo IX injectors... Ive got them scaled to 565cc and they idle great with great fuel trims and it does a AFR of 10.5 just starts to lean out at 4500rpm and keeps leaning out it seems so I wasnt to sure it was the scaling

You should be getting richer when getting into the higher RPMs with the stock map or stay at 10.5 if you changed the fuel map like on Ceddy's site.

Did you upgrade your fuel pump or at least re-wire your stock pump? Your injectors may be fine, but your fuel pressure to them may be dropping off.

Has anyone used the config file for stand alone logging with the tactrix 2.0 connector? I just got a micro SD card and tried logging with just the connector today.

The log file I got seems good except for injector duty cycle, I'm seeing this column in the 70's when ideling and over 200 when in boost. When logging from my laptop the injector duty cycle seems correct.

I compared the calculations between the conif file and the formulas in EvoScan and the injector pulse width and injector duty cycle look the same.
