My friend and I have been working on his Eagle Talon ESi since around 6:00 PM yesterday.. Ten hours later we are still here..

We are attempting to turbocharge his car. We have the oil return tapped in the oil pan and EVERYTHING else.. We just need to know how to remove the "green" bolt to use as the oil feed line..."oil pressure sender"..

Yes, I have searched. And no, there is not green bolt or anything of the like. There is a mis-shaped bolt though, with a black connector on the end of it.. We have tried to get it off and all this black connector does is spin (bearly)..

We need to know the size of said bolt so we can finish this project..

Some help would be appreciated..

There is no way in hell I will be able to get the sending unit, sensor and all off.. I tried 15-20mm wrenches and no matter what one it was, there was not enough area in the alloted room of the engine-bay.. (Yes, I was doing it on my back under the car.. It still will not work..) I need ideas/information as to how to finish this car...

This is someones DD vehical.. They need it and my dad needs it out of his shop.. Come on people...

So you're trying to remove the oil pressure sender in order to hook up the oil feed line, correct? Make sure you're taking off the OP sender and not the knock sensor. The OP is closer to the drivers side of the block, and sticks out farther than anything else on the block. You said the plastic spins, which I remember my sender doing the same.

With that said, it's doable. I don't know what size it is off hand. But it is a pain when trying to take that off. What I did since I was using an oil pressure gauge, I hit the black plastic on the sender unit and broke it, then was able to easily slip a socket over it. Came out in seconds then.

That's exactly what I did. I intentionally broke the black plastic connector (with a vice grips I think) and was able to slip that big ol' socket on there. I don't remember the exact size, but I had to make a trip to auto zone to get one.

I just went to advance auto and spent a few dollars and got a sending unit socket and it came right off, no problem at all. But looking back breaking it off and loosening seems more like my style and much faster haha

Though a day late, thank you for the replies, LOL. We managed to get ahold of a friend of ours who works on many 420a's and has COUNTLESS Neons. He told us we would need a sending unit sensor socket.. But, he told us that he has used vice grips to get them off.

So after a few failed attempts from myself, the owner of the car got underneath the thing, removed the black plastic box, which we still do not fully understand its use, and got it right off..

5lbs of boost in the thing feels amazing. LOL.... Now we need new piston rings, LOL. Thanks again!

Glad you got it off. I forgot all about the box on that car. Pulled mine off long before turboing it. I think it's some kind of vacuum distribution, but doesn't make sense considering I believe only one line went in and one out. Could have been some kind of half-ass catch can too. I don't remember where the lines came from and went to. But it was pointless IIRC.

Well the owner of this car, my friend, bought a block from a friend of mine he had in his Neon that reached 601HP. So, I believe we will be good now after a new #4 piston and rings. Then intercooler, injectors, Megasquirt, etc, etc...

Yikes..sounds like you guys are in over your head! LOL Why dont you run to the car store and grab a thread measuring tool?

Problem was solved a while ago. Just used vice-gips and got it off. But you have to make sure to remove the black box attached to the intake manifold. It gets in your way.
