ok, sorry if there's a thread on this but I couldn't find it. but anyhow, I just bought a 95 Talon, it's a turbo awd. but it's also and automatic. not that I mind I was lookin for a easy to drive daily driver anyhow. but I want that daily driver to put 350 to the wheels. now can the automatic transmission handle that kinda power or am I gonna need to switch to a manual?

The auto can handle that power and then some with relative ease. No sense in swapping to MT for that power.

The auto will take the power easily as stated.. I myself and switching my 500hp car to an auto as we speak because they take the power better than manuals, even built manuals.

Run full line pressure during shifts and it'll handle that fine assuming it has been maintained and is in working order.

My set up is an IPT auto hooked up to 2 TCUs. One is an EPROM with 2 settings, 3rd gear lock for the dyno and race mode(100% line pressure and I can control when it shifts at wot for 1st and 2nd gear). The other TCU is the stock one for every day driving. I also have a high stall billet torque converter that brings the rpms as high as 6300rpm, but i just set the launch control at 5500rpm.
No one beats me off the line(no one has yet).

Don't do the blue line mod if you are doing every day driving. It gets annoying.

As long as you have a high stall converter with the auto, you will beat any manual with the same amount of power in the 1/4 mile. I would recommend the IPT shift box with an auto, you can switch it off too when you dont feel the need to control when you shift.

A stock auto will handle 500hp with ease as long as you keep up with tranny fluid changes..
