I'm just curious what kind of mpg people are ACTUALLY getting. And how the different mods are affecting that.
I know I am getting REALLY lousy mpg, but mine may be a combination of things. I'll post how it changes as I try to correct things. (of course any suggestions on what I may be missing in improving mpg would be great)

currently I am looking at a little over 10 mpg in town. (and this is with an automatic with the overdrive left on. And really the only mods are a 3" cat back exhaust. There is a bigger turbo there, but it hasn't been turned up yet)
And about 16 mpg on the freeway.:shhh:

That's actually pretty bad MPG, I get around 18 in city and 22 in the highway.

Could be a boost leak or something that is making you run richer then you are suppose to.

Same here... I mainly drive in the city and I get between 18/20 mpg for normal driving.
If I do pulls and boost from light to light then it goes down fast.

I don't know how much for highway.

Fuel ecomony is more relative to the type of fuel and cruising RPM more than the other modifications to the car. For example:

My '99 Eclipse is heavily modded, 40+ PSI boost, race gas, M/T, etc... It gets 24-27 mpg on the highway.

My '95 talon has basic bolt-ons, 14b, pump gas on a stock fuel system, and A/T. It gets 16-20 mpg.

The A/T car rides a higher RPM on the interstate, so I get crappier gas mileage. I"m constantly between 3000-4000 RPMs most of the day. Also, I can run a leaner tune on my race gas car, so that helps with fuel economy as well.

I really only drive hard on the freeway. In town it's pretty much grandma all the way... X)

Today, hopefully I'll start with new plugs and wires...

and I'm gonna check that the 2nd o2 sensor is grounded well.

25-26 confirmed every fill up on 93E0 with my old '95 TSi AWD M/T 50/50 driving.

My profile is current and on regular pump I get 20 city 25 highway.
With e85 I average 15mpg mix city and highway having fun.

I do about 23 city 30 highway imperial mpg. Completely stock 1g AWD.

Thanks for including your mpg for e85.
I'm planning on switching to e85 soon, so its give me a good idea since I also get around 20mpg City on 93 gas.

I've seen as high as 35 mpg for a highway trip. Usually I average 28 mpg highway and 22 city.

My gas mileage is worse in the winter because lower tire air pressure, crappy roads, snow on the car, and winter-mix gas. This winter, I've been getting about 24 mph highway and 20 city.

Turning off the O/D while driving around slowly has helped me.

My right foot is the biggest factor in my gas mileage. The trips where I've seen +30 mpg are ones where I wasn't in a hurry and actually focused on seeing how good of gas mileage I could get. And in the city, I've seen as low as 12 mpg from driving like an idiot.

thanks for all the replies by the way...

I'm sure there are others out there like me who were curious about the mpg we get with our cars.

and for my two cents worth in regards to where to get good gas... never go to Safeway (some might be ok, but the ones I've used I have always gotten worse mpg and poor performance) AND try to never fill up either while the station is getting their tanks filled or shortly after. Just like with car tanks, they do get a bit of crud sitting at the bottom that can get stirred up during their fills.

i just filled up and ill let yall know what im getting but i dont think its very good. i do have a nasty exaust leak from the exaust mani to the turbo witch is probly the cause. i hate the 3.50 a gallon for 93 though

21 city/28 hway. This is driving it fairly hard, cruising @ 75 on highway. un-modified N/A motor in a TSI/AWD with all the stock turbo parts.

Always BP gasoline @ 93 octane, sometimes adding a few gallons of E-85 to help with knock.

I suspect my new talon with e316g, 550's, 20psi, wally 190, 2gMAF will get worse mileage in the city.

Im getting a little under 25 MPG, but thats alot of highway miles. If I could get a 6 speed gearbox Im sure the MPGs would go up. Nothing like cruising at 3500rpm..
and speaking of gas stations, avoid filling up at places that have one hose for the 3 grades of fuel.. if the person before you got 87 octane, the first part of your fill up is going to be 87 octane. Maybe mythbusters should do some research on it...

Well im im chicago, gas here is 380 for 93 octane. I average around 15 mpg city. Maybe 20 for the highway. I have a 2.5 dp to full 3 inch exhaust. No other mods besides hacked maf. Dont cry at 350 for 93!!! I wish it as that cheap. Over here LOL

Don't cry about $3.80! Over here it's the equivalent of $4.60!

I get an average of 24-26 mpg 60/40 highway/city driving, m/t and sometimes hard on the gas. Mods in profile.

I keep a good record of every fill up, as well as comparing my 91 oct MPG's vs. my E85 MPG's. Assuming E85 hovers around $2.89ga and 91oct hovers around $3.47ga, which we all now isn't going to happen...
E85 STATS
E85 Price: $2.89ga
E85 MPG: 18mpg
E85 cost per mile:$0.161
E85 miles per dollar: 6.228

91oct STATS
Gas Price: $3.47ga
Gas MPG: 24mpg
Gas cost per mile: $0.145
Gas miles per dollar: 6.916 Best

How everything adds up...
Miles you drive per year: 12,000
Cost per year, fueled with E85: $1,926
Cost per year, fueled with gas: $1,735
Gasoline not imported by fueling with E85 (per year): 400 gals
Reduction in green house gases with E85 (per year): 2,883 lbs

:dsm:

my gsx has basic bolt ons and still on the t25

If i go 68 on the highway i get 26.5mpg
if i go 72-74 i get 24.5 or so closer to 24

around town im looking at 18-19 if i drive normally with a boost here and there
and much less if im boosting more towards 14mpg or so
