Well, I'm going to be doing more than just car stuff with my return this year. So I am wanting a FMIC.

I am not able to spend more than 400 though. Maybe 415 or something but that'd be pushing it.

I will be running a 14b and eventually a 16g off it so I need the J-pipe.

I was looking at CX racing because they have a deal going on and a nice J-pipe for not much more.

But my friend got a Punishment Racing kit a while back and I know they are the same core but I hear they have different piping, I know their J-pipe is different but I'm not sure about the rest.

I saw a video of the CX racing kit needing a lot of grinding to fit some pipes and needing to remove and relocate the coolant reservoir to fit properly. While my friend only removed his crash beam. I plan on trimming my crash beam because I'm not a effing idiot though.

Most of all price comes down to be the biggest factor in all of this but I don't own a grinding but do own a NICE dremel. So if I do need to grind down a lot for the CX racing I don't think I could do it.

Are there any better/cheaper solutions you guys know of? Any good/bad experiences with the products/costumer service of each company?

I'm also not looking to go and get piping cut and fitted for my kit. I don't want just a core.

If any vendors read this do any of you have plans on doing a sale around the end of this month/beginning of next month for a "tax return" type sale? I don't want to buy one and be pissed I paid to much for not waiting.

Since this is the hang out anyway, what are YOU planning on doing with your return?

It'd be nice if the ratings on the intercooler were on the website...Such as HP ratings, CFM...etc.

Punishment Racing does not equal CX Racing. Both the Punishment and VR Speed Factory kits are solid.

I'm personally running the VRSF kit without issues on my HX40 setup.

Well that's news to me LOL. I was under the impression that they fabricated it themselves. I suppose I could be standing corrected then :p

Yea LOL I hope my post didn't come off nasty. It kind of seems that way to me now that I read over it.

I'd still rather buy the FMIC or downpipe from PR because they are a good vendor that will stand behind the product if there is an issue, I'm not sure if that could be said for CXR.

Anyone know how long that VRSF sale will last?

If the vrsf kit is going to be back to it's normal price I'm going to get the punishment racing kit because I don't feel like waiting on a back order for the same amount.

Since you're in Oregon, you might want to talk to Jesse at Revolution Motorsports in Eugene. He can normally rock the hookup on intercoolers through ETS if you're looking for a buy once approach. He is also a supporting vendor and stocks a lot of random go fast goodies for people that don't like to wait.

Sale's goin' on until the kits come back in stock in about 6-8 weeks :)

The 1g kit is rated for about 450hp. Hit me up if you have any questions!
