Anyone here a cop?

IF so seriously. please answer my question. Why do I feel so harassed by you? what am I doing that makes feel like you target me, that you find every reason to pull me over, then try to search my car? what makes you think I'm such a horrible person? I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I got out all of my tickets\Citations I have received since January 2010 and here's what I came up with

9 of them were for a Tail light\Brake Light, 7 of them from the same police department in a city I don't even live in (Franklin PD), 1 from the city where I use to live (Brentwood PD), and 1 from the city i now live in (METRO), but they let me off with a warning. (85$ each so 680$) (150$ ea if you don't appear in court)

The thing that frustrates me the most is the Brentwood one, me and my xgf went to taco bell one night about about 8ish, and as I pulled out of taco bell, a cop pulled out of the parking lot across the street and pulled me over immediately, and gave my a ticket for my brake light, I had no idea it was out, so when I got home and we checked, here's what pissed me off. you know how 1G DSM's have 2 tail light\brake lights on each side, well one of those 4 bulbs burned out, and that was what they gave me a ticket for, yet I still had tail lights, and brake lights on BOTH sides of the car.

2 Window tint citations, (Franklin PD) costing me 150$ EACH (300$)

BOTH Times were the same week I just bought a car with the window tint on the car, had temp tags on the car, and proved to the officer I just bought the car. a few days ago. got a ticket both times and my car was searched both times.

1st time I wasn't even aware there was a window tint law!

1 Speeding ticket which I am 100% guilty of, and take full responsibility for!

one time that really pissed me off (by Franklin again) I was randomly stopped, never told why I was stopped) first thing cop did was asked me if he could search my car so i said yes just to get it over with, so I get out he makes me sit on the hood of his car with my legs crossed and hands folded in my lap. so he goes opens my car door about 5 inches doesn't even get in the car yet or anything and goes "Son why does your car smell like weed? have you been smoking weed?!" I go officer the only thing I smoke is cigarettes, and I've never smoked in that car, I promise you I don't smoke weed I've never even tried it (still true to this day too!), and I know for the fact the previous owner of that car doesn't either because hes a good friend of mine!! so he goes "well the car smell's sweet to me" (I thought weed was skunky? not sweet) so he proceeds to search my car, once he's done he goes okay please have a seat in your car.

goes back to his cruiser, comes back and says I'm going to give you a ticket saying that your tags are expired just to show that I did stop you. I'm like my tags are current, they are only about a month old! he goes its just to show i stopped you, appear on in court at this time on this date blah blah blah and it will get removed and you won't even have to pay court costs so i said fine whatever!

guess who ended up paying a 75$ court cost about a month later?? < this guy

so that add's up the little bit over 1000$ of BS fines for things I couldn't help or laws I was completely un aware of.

Yeah I make decent money but right now, I'm not bringing in much because I work a contract job, and we haven't had much work lately due to the holidays so hours were cut due to lack of anything to do. I currently have a friend, who is jobless, carless, and doesn't have a family to support her, along with her 6 month old daughter I am taking care of, and now I can't afford to pay this ticket I have from back in august for another tail light and if they don't give me grace period, I loose my license which means I can't go anywhere, which means i cant work, which means baby is gonna starve, and i could loose my place to live and get kicked out on the street.

WHY THE HELL DO YOU DO THIS SHIT TO US? okay I work my ass off for my money, sometimes more then 60 hours a week, and it just keeps getting taking away by these bull shit cops that are suppose to "Protect and Serve" us. I say #### THEM!

i think cops just need to stop focusing on taillights and start worrying about the assholes that drive in the snow with ALL of their lights off...or in the rain...or at night....or you know.....the people that hold guns to peoples heads at banks and such?

It's like where the #### were u when Person A was driving piss drunk and hit Person B and killed them? oh yeah, pulling someone over for their tail light.


The Same Franklin Police Department of middle TN Williamson County, pulled over my friend Luis (who his Hispanic) because "His Temp tag was on the wrong side of his VW Jetta rear windsheild?" and then when asking for ID asked him to on the spot prove his U.S Citizenship? (after a whole ordeal following this incident Officer didn't get shit for this, all Luis got was an apology)

what the hell is that bull shit. This ain't AZ!

Those kids did nothing ill-eagle, were not trespassing, or anything! I know exactly where that is in Franklin off of Hillsboro Rd, and it was in a Vacant parking lot.

Why are they so out of control?

Someone who had the car before you probably got into alot of trouble in that car, which is why you get alot of attention while in it. On the subject of the wake boarding....be serious he should have known not to do it especially infront of the police....wreckless? duh?

all of my cars wierdly enough come from places far away.

Laser Lafeyette TN about 2 hour drive
E30 FairView TN 45 min drive
Talon (not pulled over yet) but South KY about an hour away.

and in franklin\Brentwood its rare to see a car older then 2002, majority of cars are BMW's , Mercedes, etc.

I think they just go oh shit this kid has an older car, he must have drugs and guns and be a terrorist.

Second, why do you let them search your car? If a cop without probable cause asks to search my car, there's no way it's going to happen. It doesn't matter if there's anything in the car, that's not the point. It's an invasion of privacy and they have NO legal right to do it without cause.

look at my photos.. you see that car.. alone in the past 2 yrs i had my NT i had about 15 tickets for loud exhaust mainly EVEN WITH THE CAR OFF!!!! i swear to god.. my windows have scratches on it with no tint and said it was tints.. TICKET!..

in heavy rain a cop pulled me over and yelled thru the loud speaker to get out and to go hand him my paper work ( just so that the officer dont get wet)

i swear to god i even had a cop pull me over because my hat was on backwards and it looked suspect.. he said just to make sure and searched my car and all...

i even had a cop tell me... look you seem like a good kid.. (well only because he ran my name and found absolutly no dirt on me) and told me.. look its about the car.. it draws alot of attention, its sporty looks awesome and hell if i had your car ill be happy.. i said thanks but you PD pull me over tooo much.. he said theres alot of crime in this area and we catch alot of ciminals by pulling them over and running their names in the system and we catch them that way.. but sometimes not to look dumb some give out small tickets here and there that you can fight and win so theres no harm...

but obviously some are bigger jerks than others... trust me sometimes i feel like being a rebel but at the end of the day.. the law is the law..

I'm respectful to people who treat me the same way. If someone approaches me with an attitude, i'll make it very clear that i have no respect for them, regardless of the trinket on their chest.

Dude man, it TN cops. I have similar luck getting puller over, searched, 'the fake ticket". Ive lived in Florida, Arizona, and New York, and TN is rediculous.

Sucks here in knoxville. The 4+4 lane interstate is a 55 mph speedzone for like 40 miles. You know how hard it is to do 55 with this much road.

bull, I got a stupid ticket for license plate light that was out, which it wasn't, just dull from poor connection/corrosion (see I am educated, I know why it was dim and not out, maybe police officers should do some research on motor vehicles), went to court to fight it, cop didnt show up. The court date was posponed, I had to miss work and school for the first date. This repeats 2 more times, I am currently waiting for the 4 court date to have this thrown out of court, feb 22 (judge said this is the last time I have to show up, after I showed him my work and school schedule) . BULLSH*T that these tickets don't do any harm, I lost money and part of my education because of it. And like most people I dont have 50 bucks just to throw at the state. bunch of crooks

Its because in towns like mine, there is no crime so the law enforcement needs something to do. We are a field day for them, hot sports car in a flashy color. I know the police are bored in my town, the police department has a large enough budget to purchase two BMW R-Series for the force........I think more people in my town should break the law, maybe even riot, that would get shit started. Cops wouldn't know what to do.

no I fixed it everytime, then another one burns out, the e30 was notorious for burning out bulbs for wahtever reason, could never trace the problem down.

and the 2 times I told them no, they used it as probable cause to get a warrant so I sit there for an extra 30 mins while they call up a judge or who ever.

Most cops around here think they own the town

Regarding equipment violations, it's a good reason to stop someone to see if anything else is going on. This can lead to extradition warrants or better, I've seen it. Fix your car. They have to give out tickets for it and stop random people for it to set a precedence in case the reason for their stop of a violent criminal comes up in court later.

Your hat could have been on in a fashion that was recently established as a local gang sign, or you could have resembled a suspect, or a dozen other things that could have happened. You drive what appears to be a heavily modified car, you wanted attention.

Try to consider for a second that this particular officer may have just finished a felony stop, chased a man three blocks and then fought to restrain him. He may have seen a friend injured. He may be going through the psychological effects of adrenaline dump and not even be in full control of his body language. If the cop's just a dick (and they're human, some are) be the bigger man, don't be a dumbass.

city cops always screw with dirt bikers here... if you have your garage door open they instantly start creeping and circle the block a couple times.... a couple times when i was riding on BLM land i had the city police helicopter following me for no reason, .... and always the first question they ask is "do you have weed on you?"

I consent to searches because cops around here bring the dogs out and have them jump all over your car until you admit you have drugs. Which is a bi***, when you don't.

Never been pulled over in the Talon, had my flat black primered Cavalier jumped all over with the cop smiling about it. Told him to get rid of the smirk and quit wasting my time.

I used to have an E30. Awesome little cars.

Police can't use a refusal to search as probable cause for a search, that's not legal. Think about it, if that were the case the laws regarding privacy would be self-undermining.
