Anyone have any pictures of what exactly he does to modify it? I'm interested and would like to run this on my project car if it will apply to what I'm trying to accomplish. I like and trust what Kiggly does. :thumb:

I haven't seen any "public" images of it.

But basically, the front 2/3 of the screen is completely covered with sheet steel welded to it. This forces the pick-up to only pull from the rear portion of it only.

Definitely a nifty idea for a heavy-accelerating car, but if it were me, I'd just fab up a pick-up from scratch with built-in improvements.

Well look at you. :p I was told that it covers most of the screen but I would like to see pictures. I don't have the know-how or the money to have one fabricated. I would like to get the modification done though.

No offense, but if you don't have the know how, or the money than how are you going to get it done?

I have a person that can fabricate a plate over the screen. I don't have the know-how to weld the shit together nor do I have a TIG. I'm saying I don't have the money as in the ability to afford a welder. I'd rather pay my welder $5 to weld a piece of steel on to the pickup as opposed to me fabricating a pickup for at least 4x that amount.

Never heard of this. Would this cause any starvation issues for normal driving? I haven't put my oil pan on yet, is the pick up steel so I can mig it?

I'm more than certain that it's steel. I've talked to someone from NABR that also stated it's a plate that blocks off most of the screen on the pickup. I'm not sure how it would perform under normal driving but I'd like to find out. I'm not wanting it for a DD so I'm not too worried about it.

So you want us to post pics so you can copy someone else's work? I think this is why Kiggly has not put pics up.

Your comment doesn't help my question in any way. If you could, please post some useful information to better assist with my inquiry.

Thanks bro. :thumb:

FYI: It was more work than anticipated to shape and form the steel around the face of the pick-up. That's partially why Kiggly isn't offering them for sale. So, if you aren't doing the work yourself, be prepared to spend more than $5.

No, this was a race mod. He was having issues with oil moving rearward in the sump during heavy prolonged acceleration. It was allowing the front of the pick-up to suck in air, which can cause nasty low spikes in oil pressure and can cause damage to engine bearings.

Yes, the pick-up is some sort of steel and you should be able to MIG on it.

So I'm assuming you have seen this modification? Nonetheless, thanks for the help. Consider this thread dead.
