Hello everyone

I want to buy parts to build an engine.
The thing is, I do not know for sure what engine I have if it 6 or 7 BOLTS. My Car 1993
4G63 DOHC
Japanese model 150hp NT VER . Not an American like yours.
CHASSIS D22A model if it tells you something.

I saw the FAQ guide on that site, but could not figure out exactly what I own.

I would appreciate if someone can help me on
Thanks :D

Cars outside the US have unusual model years. If yours in the one in the avatar you'll note that it has popup headlights where were only made in 90 and 91. Normally they would have 6 bolt engines but this might help you decide How to quickly tell a 6bolt and 7bolt engine apart

All 4g63s (turbo or not) have the timing belt on the right. The question is whether or not it is a 6 or 7 bolt motor. If its a 93 then its a 7 bolt i would say.

Careful. Evo's had the 4G63 with the timing belt on the left. All DSMs equipped with a 4G series engine (37, 63, 64) had the timing belt on the right side. :thumb:

There really is no way for us to tell what the engine is. For 1Gs, a 6-bolt looks identical to a 7-bolt from the particular view you've provided. Use the link steve posted earlier and look at the oil pan as it is the easiest and quickest way to know what you have.

I'm expecting that it's a 6 bolt since it really looks like it's a 91 NA FWD car. Note the popup headlights, ABS, and both the CAS and TPS have connectors rather than pigtails. But you have to look at the oil pan to know if it's a 6 bolt or 7 bolt.

I suspect it will turn out to be a 6-bolt also. But I'd rather the OP find out for certain and tell us rather than us assuming and telling him.

Overseas all 1g 90-94 had pop-ups.

90-91 had our style.
92-94 had a "shorter" popup cover with what looks like a slit infront of it.

Benny you can tell if it's a 6 or 7 bolt from looking at the oil pan.

Thanks, I didn't know that. I guess it was easier to stick with a sealed beam than make 1Gb lights approved for all the various countries.

A few pictures of what I could catch, under the car ..
I'm pretty sure this 6 - Flat. No?
These pictures I managed to shoot under the car was a bit hard to see something there.

Thanks a lot for the help from you guys:)

It appears to be a 7-bolt oil pan. The difference that I rely on most is shown here:

If the encircled portion of the pan flange is curved, as shown, it is a 7-bolt. If it is flat across, it is a 6-bolt. If you'd like, you can PM me your VIN and I'll look up what ASA says as your car's original equipment.
