This little fvcker has some power! Finally got the wideband hooked up, and even though it's still funning a little rich, it pulls so much better. It's at 17psi now, I havent had a chance to turn up the boost and tune it again yet.

Well i have to say the turbo finally died. After 4 months of antilag, and 20+psi daily it has some serious in/out shaftplay. The good news is i didnt realize it until i took it off to get ready for the fp3065:thumb:I would say is was worth the 229.00 i paid for the 16g, but then again not every chinese turbo is going to perform like the one i have. I just got lucky

So how much power did you make on the 16g?

I never made it to the dyno, but my dsmlink estimate was right around 400hp on a good pull. I'd say i probably put somewhere around 330hp to the ground at 25psi.As far as performance i'd say it's real close to the mhi unit. It just spools a little slower, and doesnt last long

WOW!!!! I HAVE REVIVED this thread!!! for one reason!!!!
How is it going fellas & females!!!!!
whats the feedback on the e-bay turbo???
Mine has been worth its weight in GOLD!!!! hahaha, but seriously, who has gotten one? feedback is a must, i have herd about 7 stories so far from my buddies with an e-bay EVOIII turbo being a + boosting at 28 to 30PSI and still holding..

first time ive actually read this thread, but i run the tc.com evo 3 16g gt which is pretty close to the ebay models and have put about 5k on it and 30 plus track runs, 2 dyno trips, and constant street beating on it. Maxed 314 whp at 20 psi and 307 tq. One thing i have noticed in reviewing my dyno sheets vs MHI turbos is my numbers look good but the curve doesnt hold it falls off fast anyone else notice this or have any idea's on if it's the turbo or wastegate.

Well i have about 2500 miles on my turbo from Ebay. I have had a 14b a s16g Mhi a Mhi Evo 3 16g and now i'm running a Ebay Evo 3 16g. Out of all of them the small 16g was the best for my cars setup. It is an automatic so i loved that quick spool. However the real Evo 3 16g feels very similar to the Ebay Evo 3. I have had some white smoke coming from my car under a hard run. But i think it's my oil drain tube. I believe it's leaking oil on my down pipe. I only have a 8th mile track here. But i have ran 8.20s on a small 16g . Here shortly i'm going back with my Ebay turbo and then we will see the difference if any at all.

I also have the TC.com evo3 gt, In a old thread a guy ran a 11.4 with the gt and 11.6 with the mhi. He actually logged more air with the gt too. The reason it falls off in the higher rpms is because of the 34mm wastegate flapper. Your going to have to add washers or a spring to keep it closed longer.

When i bought my Galant there was a brand new EVO 3 16G Knockoff model on my car and it lasted about a year before the seals blew and it had tons of in and out shaft play but that turbo still works perfectly!! I was quite impressed that even with all that play it worked perfectly. Its definatly a good quality cheapo turbo

I pulled the motor apart searching for the smoke and found two broken piston ring lands!
Both of these pistons was ITM pistons the other 2 was o.e.m and they are fine.

Eclipserayazz did you sell your car?

Yes i did,

Here is a link running next to another guy who was running a MITSUBISHI 16G Turbo. He ran a 12.1, i passed at 12.08
He told me he spent $650 for that...They work!!! if your looking for cheap!!!

Okay i have added delta 264/272 regrinds to my build and 2g piston on 1g rods. I am auto so i added shift kit , and end clutch upgrades. My best 60 ft was 1.65 and 8th mile was 8.28. Those runs was on small 16g, 1g maf, 255 lph pump poly motor mounts, 2g manifold,2.5 inch down pipe through a thrush muffler.

Now i have Ebay evo3 16g,delta 264/272s, tranny upgrades, external o2 dump, 550 injectors afpr, 2g pistons on 1g rods, manumatic tranny mods, shift kit, upgraded end clucthes. This thing ought to go faster. With all the above mods.

I am heading to the track soon to see what she will do. I only have a 8th mile track and driving 3 hours to a quarter mile track is out of the question. I have know way of getting it home if i break it.

I made it to the track i was only able to run 19psi and i kept hitting fuel cut but i'm getting a chipped ecu and all that will be water under the bridge and i will be in the mid sevens.

I see its been awhile since this thread was active...hows the ebay 16G holding up??:sneaky:

Yes i did sell the car, but man it held up for the longest time then i upgraded my turbo and gave my ebay big 16g to a buddy and still to this day is still running that thing hard, hard, hard with next to no issues at all.

I have just picked up another extremely clean 1g TSI, and im ready to begin again from completely STOCK!!!!
I feel like a newbie again haha

I have an EBAY 16g and it is holding up really well too i have been running it hard i paid 200 shipped with a manifold used.
I boosted to 25 psi the other day and it felt like it wanted more. I was told they hold up to 35 or more is that true? Obviously not on stock internals. But comfortably at 20-25 is the goal for these turbos correct? I'm running stock SMIC And haven't had heatsoak at 20 psi maybe I am not pushing it hard enough:rocks: She can take it...... I'll be sure to post when or if it Blows on me.

just slapped my ebay evo III turbo on last night. as well as an authentic evo 3 o2 housing. runs good at 12 psi. will crank it up before long. picked up the turbo from a kid for 100$ not bad.

Man that's awesome news!!! Was this Turbo New? Or used from your buddy? If its used and already broken in i wouldn't hesitate to bump that puppy up to 18ish right now, unless you dont have the fuel and ect to support that yet!!! Keep me posted!!

Just for the record, turbochargers do not require any break-in like an engine would. Once the turbo is installed and the engine is started, a 10-minute idling period to verify that the oil lines are not leaking is plenty.

If the turbo is getting oil, it's ready to perform.
