I have an awesome eGhey 20g I'll sell you. Came off a car I got; only way I'd ever have an eGhey turbo. LOL

As i've mentioned on other threads, I am currently de-eBaying a Talon. It's sad, really.

Mine was less than a ebay version rebuilt to new, thousands of miles, love it no worries about damage or pulling it off any time soon, until im ready.. Lot of miles still to go, ill keep it when i go bigger. LOL

So what I'm getting from this is:
1) for internal parts of the engine(cranks, rods, pistons, ect) get brand name.
2) for external stuff (intakes, exhausts, other pipes) its okay to get no name because it's just gases that run through them and that can't really mess up your motors.
Is this correct?

:toobad: hope that motor is still healthy.

BELIEVE me.. So do i.... so do i..

right now I'm just hoping it will make it until spring to buy me some time to rebuild the other engine I have.

But this car was so full of eGhey garbage.... I'm worried.

I didn't read the whole thread but Turbo is one thing you don't want to cheap out on. Exhaust and other stuff is okay. No internal complications are involved like oil, turbine, shaft, etc. like turbos.
People keep saying ebay but it's not. It's just a place where people sell stuff. It's more of a market where shops sell their stuff. Heck even punishment and ets are on ebay.

Yeah but lots of us use ebay intercoolers, never heard of one shredding into pieces. LOL Never heard of someone saying dont get that fmic. MMMM

Ebay cores are all fine and dandy untill you start going for crazy power :D

I used to have a file full of egay part failing to shreads. Full of fail.

Yes you have the general idea, but it's always good to research a product before you buy it. If you're ever in question about something ask us on here because even if it's a dumb question, and you might get a little bashed, at least you won't have a ruined motor :thumb:

i had a gst the same way, i tried my best on rebuilding everything till i got tired of fwd and sold it, the new owner its gonna do the same thing the owner before me did, poor car.

Dont let that talon die eghey style.

Only Ebay item i purchased for my dsm was an O2 housing/dump:hmm:. It literally looks exactly like SBR's . I loved it.

thats probably because sbr bought it on ebay and sells it as their own LOL. the sbr clutches look strangely like xtd clutches with sbr stickers :hmm:

I would rather drive arround on a blown MHI 14b and spewing smoke everywhere instead of buying a cheap bay turbo (i would park my dsm at that point, it was an example). I wont even get a cell phone cover from cheap bay ROFL.

One other thing is that I never did understand the blowing up and parts getting into the engine! Ya if your running an extreme direct pipe setup LOL. Shouldn't the intercooler catch all of the chunks if any. I think its possible to pepper the valves and pistons but highly unlikely.

It's the bearings or shaft (parts that are involved with oil) that will go out and put metal shavings through your system. I've never seen actual chucks fly off but I guess with ebay anythings possible.

Hey akira sick name!

it won't. this car will be getting the e316g, ets IC, dsmlink, and various other stuff from the other car. The 20g and most of the ebay stuff is already on the garage floor.

so yeah.. sorry OP... not a fan of eGhey stuff... The strut towers on the blue talon were just fixed. they had cracks in them. guess what? it was sitting on ebay "coilovers" with blown oe shocks. they were not even installed right... one side the spring sat crooked. :ohdamn:

I think I'd trust a turbo made from pepsi cans over ebay china garbage.

Tsikid: that's correct.. its the metal shavings that get into the oil that will cause damage. since the turbo gets its oil from the engine; its all connected.

eBay Chinese turbos are self-explained....you get what you pay for. These turbos are built from melted-down aluminum cans and brake rotors, and are not balanced using a VSR like MHI 16G's....and people wonder why why they don't last.

eBay intercoolers and piping are hit-or-miss. Obviously you can't screw up when building a pipe, but if you compare the core of an eBay intercooler to the Buschur core on my TSi AWD, you'll see there is around 4 or 5 more rows on the Buschur core....telling me the Buschur core is much more efficient. Although Ricky (dacowgod) made almost 600whp with a $200 SS Autochrome FMIC spraying meth, so they do flow enough air to make power and don't explode under boost.

eBay Manifolds and o2 dumps are great until the crack. eBay boost controllers are touchy and inaccurate.

Again, you get what you pay for.

The wise man had spoken. everyone was waiting for you.

Ok, so what about the CX Racing Turbos DSM Graveyard sells? I emailed to cancel my Godspeed Turbo from Ebay. Now what about the Turbos directly from Godspeed? How about DSM Graveyard cams? Trying to decide between those and the Brian Crower 272 cam/spring combo from Extreme PSI.

There are plenty of guys using Brian Crower cams. Search this site for more info from Brian Crower cams users.

You're not going to go fast building a car from eBay parts or anything sold by those cut-rate vendors like Godspeed and CX Racing....it may be fast at first, but it's not going to last long.

Well, there is no sign or a thread on here that I have found compiling the places not to buy from. And the fact that Supporting Vendors of this site sell some of the products you all say is garbage make it worse on a person new to DMSs. If a person cannot trust Supporting Vendors where do you turn? Ask questions here? I have seen many people bashed on because they ask questions about certain parts. If we knew everything we would not need this site or any other car site for that matter.

At some point common sense has to kick in.

Vendors are out to sell products to a target audience. If their target audience is in the market for a $250 Chinese turbo and a vendor feels like they're losing sales on these to eBay, they're going to start stocking them. Eventually they'll get fed up with the amount of returns and unsatisfied customers and drop it from their inventory....just like Punishment Racing did with their "Budget 16G".

If you want a good honest answer, call one of the Supporting Vendors and ask them. I'll guarantee not a single one is going to actually recommend this turbo to you....it's only on their site to entertain click-happy internet buyers.

Well, like I said I canceled the turbo. Going to just stock pile parts for now until warmer weather. Maybe once I get my account credited I will order the stuff for my top end rebuild.

I went the ebay route, with mixed results. I bought individual parts and jigsawed them together which I can attribute to one of my fails. The T3 header cracked at the wastegate flange but that was most likely due to me having to change the angle for the wastegate. Second problem was the wastegate itself. That was a true ebay p.o.s. Leaks on the boost and exhaust side but it does hold the boost where I tell it to. And the ebay t3/t4 turbo is actually working good but in all fairness I only have as a guess 2000 miles on her.
