So, I have a 2G GST which is my DD. I currently have a boost gauge, Turbo Timer, Intake, and 3" Catback. I am going to start restoring/modding the car. Here is what I have planned in no particular order:

7 Bolt Block Machined
88mm Manley Crank
2G Rods
Evo 9 Pistons
Head Ported, Polished & Rebuilt (3G Lifters)
272 Cams (Crower or DSM Graveyard)
Big T28
3" DP with High-flow Cat
FMIC
NGR BOV
EBC
Eibach/Tokico Suspension
1G TB
DSM Link

Of course there are alot of non performance parts going in to freshen the car up. I want to swap the gray interior for Tan/Black Combo. Fresh Paint Job (Green). New Rims, Brakes, etc....

What are some cheap options for a big brake kit. I have an 02 Mustang GT that I am swapping brakes on. I am yanking the factory brakes for Baer Kit F&R. Can my stock brakes work on a 2G or just the 1G?

I am getting 17" Tiburon Rims (New 5spokes) for $200, I am going to get a custom center cap and get them painted gloss black.

Any comments????

and u never thought of maybe adding some sway bars or coilovers or maybe even lsd to help with traction
 
I am at some point going to have my tranny freshend with a good LSD. I do not want to go Coilovers, I have a full Eibach Pro System Plus Kit on the Mustang and love it which is why I want to go Tokico/Eibach. I do plan on Sway Bars.

I was thinking about a 255lph fuel pump.

When I have the head ported and polished it is getting new lifters, retainers, springs, and valves. I just have not decided which ones, there is a special on a site for springs, retainers, and 272 cams which I may do. I believe it is under $500.

This is a budget build but, not a cheap build. I am also building my Mustang up.
 
i use Brian cower 272's ($350) and found someone selling a set or evo springs ($55) and I'm completely satisfied and if u are planning on making more power in the future i would def go with a wally 255... you don't want to be starving for fuel halfway through a build... or end up having to buy something twice
 
also some decent size injectors ( you probably should go with bigger injectors since your using dsmlink ) and an afpr wouldnt hurt either (only saying cause its not on your list)

FMICpunishment racing has a nice kit for under 400

I am going to a new crank and the reason is piece of mind. I know there is alot of arguement as to the cause of Crankwalk. I want to minimize the risks. I will probably go Manley as it is a hair lighter and around the same price.

I was thinking of a 16G but, I want to go T28. I plan on doind an AWD Project soon with an 18G so, I just want a different style on this one.

As far as cams are you talking 272 Intake and 264 Exhaust? I was going to use the 272/272 Combo to push my power a little higher in the RPM Band. I am not worried about a lack of power below 3K. Honestly, it would help me in the winter.

As far as Fuel Pump, I know 255LPH is a little overkill and probably the 660cc Injectors are also. But, I want to make sure I do not have to worry about fuel with my tuning. I would rather run my injectors and fuel pump at 70% than be creeping on 90%. Plus, I found a great deal on a 255LPH.

I think I may pick up a set of 17x7 wheels I found. They are stock Tiburon Double 5 Stars from a 2003-2007. I will either have them shot in Gloss Black or a Dark Gray. Eventually when I find a good deal on some EVO Rims they will become set up with winter tires.

On brakes I am looking into a 3000GT VR4 swap or can I use the brakes from a 2002 Mustang GT? I know there are 1Gs with the Mustang Brakes. The Mustang Brakes would be off mine that I am getting a Baer Track Kit for.

Also, do I need to have DSM Link before I get the cams? I know it is recommended for most vehicles but, could I get by with good driveability without a tune right away on 272/272 or 272/264?
 
Sorry but is there a thread on the 1g tb mod for a 2g I'm interested in this and not able to find it yes I searched but I get post like this one.
 
What are you going to tune with? No reason to put all that work into a motor if it's not tuned properly.
 
Going to tune the motor with DSM Link. Right now, I am actually pondering an AWD and 6 Bolt Swap. I guess since I am redoing the motor, I may as well go 6 Bolt. I keep finding more and more reasons to go 6 Bolt besides the obvious Crankwalk issue. I am just trying to decide whether it would be easier to look for a 2G AWD that is in good shape or wait for a shell to come available with a good AWD System.
 
Well, had a little extra money and decided WTF??? I purchased a Godspeed Ported Big 16G turbo from Ebay with install kit. Going to keep my T25 just in case of catastrophe but, I will let you know how it does. I will be keeping the car at stock boost levels as I do not have a Boost Controller. I will not be turning up the boost until I have more mods on the car to support and wrangle in that power. I know people are going to gripe and moan and tell me what an idiot I am for buying an Ebay turbo. Well, we will see whether or not I am by my own personal experience.
 
All that no wideband, yet if were going to give yoiu suggestions and opionons you kinda open that up when you post a thread, your turbo your choice all those mods, should have gotten a used 14b at least. Buddy of mine got a ebay turbo he was excited gotta get me a 16g evo well didnt last a few hundred miles, it broke no more engine thats proof enough from experiecne, keep the stock turbo get link to tune your car no matter what mods you have, learn from that.
