I am trying to learn as much as I can about knock and fuel trims. I cant seem to find an answer about knock though. I know its bad to have it but when is it TOO bad? How much timing degree can you have before bad stuff happens?

Also I want a logger for my car but im totally unsure of what kind of logger to get and cable. I want to make my own cable cause its cheap:p
I have a 91 1g with SAFC.

I read a few threads on this a little while back.. let me see if i can find them right quick.. Im not to familiar with the safc.
 
I know the palm 100 series all have logging software as for the rest I can't remember if you need the software you can pm me and I'll send you a link.
 
got a 1991 eagle talon tsi awd 5speed idle problem first turbo car so need help on whta to check for
 
I dont know much about the timing and knock ether but i would suggest sell your safc and use that and the logger money to get your self a link v3 lite its both logger and tuner with extra things to help you tune better.
 
I used a palm III for logging with a safc that worked really well the only problem was if the battery died on the palm it would lose all your info,but it still gave you all the useful info such as knock,timing inj duty cycle but i agree for the money i would get ecm link.i think i still have the palm if your interested.
