I can tell you:
You do have a GM MAF, I don't know about the translater.
You're missing a bolt/stud for your turbo, fix that..
You're missing a your turbo manifold heatshield.
Your boost controller/wastegate aren't hooked up properly.
That smallish pipe coming from your intake pipe needs to be capped or filtered.
You have some random grounds running around that aren't OEM, but the car's not stock, so who knows..

That's all I have for now.

he is running a GM maf

also since your not recirculating your bov I would plug you intake pipe. You don't want any debris ruining the fins on your turbo.

if you have this thing then you got the translator.

look all over the place. it might be hidden.

as far as everything else, the list above is pretty spot on. get all that fixed, do ALL maintenance (for self assurance) no matter what the previous owner said he did. boost leak test, compression, leak down etc. pretty much EVERYTHING the manual says LOL

Ones thing here though buddy, these engines are not rev happy like some/most Honda engines. Don't go and try to rev your dsm to 8k + because your motor was not designed for that, plus dsm's don't carry variable valve timing like Hondas.

Other than that, so far so good. Just do routine maintenance and take care of your dsm and it will take care of you.

More because you can't JDM out a USDM only car. These weren't sold in Japan.

While you are nowhere close to the power required, 8K really isn't hard for our engines to handle. I think Brent Rau revs out to over 11K, but he is in a whole different class than us.

BUT, they were sold in Japan as a GSR-4..

Oh yeah, and welcome to the dark side. You made the right choice brother
