I have a complete running 6-bolt for sale. Has about 80k miles on it. Has everything except the exhaust manifold. In great condition except one of the ears where the block bolts up to the transmission has cracked off. Shouldn't really affect the performance though.

I'm asking $300

As you can see good condition, just a little dirty.

Decent deal for 2 Engines, even considering the busted mounting ear.

Also up for trades, some things I'd like:
3'' Turboback exhaust
DSMLink
Ported/Aftermarket Exhaust Manifold
16g or bigger turbo,
Black rims and big tires
SMIM
255lph fuel pump / injectors/regulator
1ga carbon fiber hood
... pretty much any performance part except flywheel or clutch.
Just tell me what you got.

Still have engines for sale?

Hey guys I know this is way of topic, but so far this is the only thread I've found that has a block with my problem. All I want to know is how screwed am I, My block just like the OP's engine, has one of the ears for the mounting of the engine to the tranny broken off(the one in the front) I know this is needed for one of the guide bolts, so am I screwed or is it fixable?

A good machine shop may be able to weld it - but it'll be fun trying to find someone willing.

But would it still be reliable? Also I dont have the piece that broke off, I bought the car for $500 because they could never get it to work, with some research found it could be that guide bolt behind the engine, but to my demise it was broken in the front. Let say I get the other ones on, would it be just fine with out the front one or am I just asking for trouble? Should I just go get another engine? there is one by where I live going for around $350 the complete engine, just got to go pull it myself!

If welded by a knowledgeable individual with the proper utilities? Yes. It'd be reliable.

Picking up an engine is a bit of a gamble if you don't know the engine personally.

Although Dan never updated his thread, his was fine once repaired. No issues for him or the next owner of that shortblock.

If you don't have the piece to weld back on, then you'll have to do your best to make one. You'll have to cut something out and shape it. Then weld it in place, then drill and tap. It will be alot of work - alot more than if you had the broken piece and simply needed it welded back on. If you're paying for the labor of fabrication, then it may be cost effective for you to source out a replacement block.

Well I asked around all the machine shops ( the most reputable) and they told me I was better of looking for another block since I didnt have the part that broke off! :( And picking up an engine seems like my best bet and the cheapest! besides I'll still have all the other parts from the other engine!

How I wish it had been me that broke it, then I would atleast have the piece, but since I bought the car like that I think I'm pretty much screwed! :banghead: Since I'm not very good at making things much less something so important, I think I'm going to have to buy the other engine!

Thank you all for all your imput :thumb:, I was really hoping I could get her working, But in the upside Now I get to do my first engine swap! LOL
