I rebuilt the motor in my 1999 Talon and put a gen 1 motor in with a gen 2 head. I finally got everything done and got the car started. When I shut off the car and checked the oil it was a milky consistency. I believe that I may be mixing antifreeze and oil. I am thinking that the mixing may be occuring at the turbo. I have an oil and antifreeze cooled turbo. I do not know if I need to get a oil filter adaptor. I need help ASAP, since the snow is already starting. Thanks.

Your sure you did the HG correctly? Theres not too many places oil can mix with coolant.

It COULD be your stock oil cooler but the odds of that are very slim. Especially if you messed around with your headgasket and your oil and coolant wasn't mixing before. It's most likely your headgasket not sealing correctly. What kind of gasket did you get? Composite? MLS?

I got a cometic gasket, I believe that is an MLS.

I had the car running about 2-3 minutes.

Sounds like hg, mine did that before it turned out to be the hg had blown not many miles on it at all but oh well. Do a compression test.

You have to have a great deck surface on your head and on your block. I mean really straight and the ra has to be better than factory cut. I never run those unless my block and head are getting cut. I have even tried block sanding my block and head with a real low mile engine pulled from a buddys wreck and it leaked. Head torque is really important with theses gaskets as well. Do it out of sequence or tighten a stud to tight a pulled on the holes and these will leak very quickly. Since you havent driven it I would like the others recommend a compression test. The thing could be running like crap under a load and you wouldnt know that because you havent driven it yet.

If I do not have a oil cooler in the car, could that be the problem? I also put in a 16G turbo when I did the swap. Is there something that maybe I hooked up incorrectly?

No, sounds like a hg problem still you cant hook the 16g up wrong it goes on only one way the fittings going to the correct lines. Do a compression test to help, guessing is not going to solve the problem, your having, sometimes things go wrong.

The 6-bolt head studs are larger than the 7-bolts. I'm running the same block and head configuration on my car and had the holes enlarged on the head to accomidate the larger head studs. This might be causing the head to not seat... just something else to consider.

I ran a compression test and two of the cylinders were at 65 and two were at 80. Any ideas as to whether or not it is still may be my head gasket or possbily something else?

Since you have low compression across the board, it sounds like the head is not seating. Check to make sure the head is not binding on the head studs as I mentioned before. If that is not an issue, pull the head and make sure it is flat along with the block. Are you using an MLS or composite gasket?

Did you have the head milled or anything to make sure you had a good surface? It usually cost about $30-40 to have it done, and its a good way to help ensure a clean seal

mls, cometic head gasket.

Sorry, I missed that you said you were running an MLS gasket. I would pull the head and see what you find... let us know what you find.

well if you did a leak down test and have low readings...id say its your HG...its sux that you have too pull the head off and check it but it needs to be done...take pics if you can....goodluck bro...keep us updated..
