You ever get tired of trying to fix a problem and just feel like just giving up and getting rid of it.. I've been so fed up with this idle surge problem. And now I think I have to get a new ecu to fix it.

Yeah, but then I just man up and keep working at it until I figure out the problem and fix it. It's easy to just give up, but it's so much more rewarding to fix it yourself.:) And I've found that there's just no other substitute for the power you can make for the money with our cars. Sure, you can give up and drive an average car. It may be more reliable, but you won't have as much fun.;) Good luck and stay with it my friend.:thumb:

I was tired of going to alternators and batteries like crazy so I got rid of my 99 gst. It had a short somewhere and I wasn't familiar with wiring at the time. But now I have a 97 gst

yes i feel that way right now... i have destroyed 2 front differentials in the past 30 days. damn hx35 @ 30+ psi of boost!

Darn. The luck ay Haha. It must be just horrible having that much power ;)

I keep telling myself that... and try striving to completely figure it out... cause I love the car and always wanted it started out with a 420a and got the 99 gsx 93k miles for under 3k .. it just gets overwhelming but the reward is good too

Well, if your dsm ever pushes you over the edge, check out my WTB ad in the marketplace! :thumb:

YES!!! I wanted to give up so bad after yesterday: Everything going fine, all of the sudden an electrical gremlin that has ALWAYS haunted my car decided to show back up. Car will barely crank over, even with a new battery and jumper cables going to test spots to check grounds. GRRRRR!!!

I will try again this weekend, I can't let it get the best of me, maybe it will be even colder LOL :/

Ive sold a couple dsm's because I got fed up with them. But for some reason when I get rid of them...I want another one right away...

Hell no! when i bought it the guy who sold it asked if i knew what i was getting into. i said damn right. only way i get rid off it is if it catches on fire. had it for olmost 2 years drove about 3k miles. in that time i fix brake system. did t belt with all the seals. 2 alternators. fixed idle problem painted it and then bearings took a ride. im building it now and not one time i thought about getting rid of my baby LOL

I think about this at least once a week. I always want to buy an newer car with no mods... But then I change my mind. :)

well at least im not the only one with car troubles

THink we should take a vote to changed this subject title to "who hasn't felt this way before about thier dsm" LOL. But i too have felt this way on my 91 GSX which it got so bad i didn't even want to sell it to anybody. I was worried it i would hear shit why i couldn't get it to stay running for more then 3 months at time. I took it down to the bone. When i was done with that car me and 3 buddies walked it down to the junk yard thats how lite it was.

wow .. thats no good at all LOL

you know i say i consider getting rid of it.. but in all honesty i would never... just get fed up sometimes ya know

sometimes, usually get over it if i do something else for awhile then get right back to it!

and yes the feeling after you fix something you've been struggling with is the best!

I lost my right front wheel while I was driving the other night, all the studs for the lug nuts snapped clean off. I think they were a tad too tight :/ Keep telling myself I need to sell it but she is just too durn fun.

Ive definitely been there but after replacing the suspension, fuel pump, throttle body, turbo x2, clutch x2, flywheel, pressure plate, head unit, exhaust, rims, tires, carpet, altx3,battery, motor mounts, shifter bushings, I was ok. LOL good luck!

Ijust have to many project cars and have been selling off all my dsm's and just keeping my evo 3 and the wifes 01 mirage .

Already sold the evo 1
Restored 92 talon sold it as a shell
Selling the orignal factory 89 mirage turbo hatch
98 black on black bone stock auto gsx
98 awd spyder shell that I bought brand new off the lot and still has 48k on it

I am just tired of all the dsms I have and the bins of parts laying around. Going to sell them and pick up a evo 8 and finnish up my 51 truck

Every time something goes wrong with it I feel like selling it, but then when I get it running good for those 10 days I fall in love with it again, until it breaks down again.:p

Just a month ago i was mind set to trade it for a clean stock Audi S4 but dam talon broke! just before i was going to take it. If its ment to be, its ment to be...

Now engine is apart, new built trans on the way and more negative numbers on my bank

Short term, long term no Its been many years, i love problem solving, besides I learn so much, and its too damn fun, regardless of money and time. So noooo.
