I was looking into a new racing radiator because i hit a racoon... and a... chunck :barf: ... somehow got wedged in between a fan and the radiator itself. When the fan kicked on, it managed to beat the $#!% out of my stock radiator, but the fans are okay.

Ive always wondered if using the cooling fans meant for a 4g63 would work in a 420a vehicle because even in the "420a parts catalog" section of this site, the aftermarket slim fans are labeled for the 4g63 engine... If anyone knows if they would work please let me know here. :D

ALSO wanted to know it anyone has put a 4g63 radiator in a 420a car, I know the piping runs from different points on the different cars. Just in case the fans are not the same.

Curious to see any others that put in radiators from non-dsms.

Thanks guys! Pics help!

I figured that they would bolt in seeing as the radiator supports are the same. And i was considering an aluminum radiator/slim fan combo meant for the 4g63 in my 420a RS. Just because there is more options for turbo cars. But,
1. How would i compensate for the extra distance between hose inlets? Longer hoses?
2. Would a hose made of the same as stock material hold up to the extra lenth?
3. Should I try to fab up a new hose solution, or is there an aftermarket way to meet the new length requirement?

You would need to cut/reweld the openings on the radiator. That's way too much time/money spent on something you could just buy. There are company's out there that make aluminum radiators for 420a's. I wouldn't waste my time trying to fabricate a solution unless you have the time and resources.
