I would say it's coming on due to knock if it is coming on during wot, I dont see a fpr in your mod list, the 255 Wally is most likely over running your stock fpr not to mention you are also probably maxing out your 450's, if you turned your boost up you are most likely knocking, do you have anything to tune or log with?

Try pulling your CEL code from ecu. Even though it no longer is lit your ecu will store most codes.

check your plugs. also do a boost leak test. between that and the CEL we should be able to figure it out.

A sensor code will generally make the cel stay on, the light coming on when he is on the throttle then going out when he let's off and rpms drop is probably going to be for knock given his mods,I'd say he is not getting enough fuel and knocking, get a code reader and check what comes up

Yea but what is he tuning with to have a CEL knock light? Because from the factory the light won't come on and he's got nothing listed in his profile for tuning.

before I got link I was running stock injectors on stock 97 ecu with a 16g, fuel pump, and my cel would come on under wot. It wasnt untill I got a 95 ecu with link that I noticed on a log that the cel was coming on when I had counts of knock, it will come on, thats the whole purpose of having a knock sensor...

Actually I forgot to put in my mods, the Guy I bought the car from said it was tuned with eprom. I haven't gone as far as looking to see if the ecu is chipped or not. Will look and get back to you guys

He didnt say what he used to tune it? Your best bet is to pick up a logger so you can know for sure what is going on. I still think it from knocking but the only way to see whats going on is for you to get it scanned and see what codes come up

But I can guarantee its not running lean at wot.

OK I will do so

Just curious, is your profile up to date? If so, how do you know if you are running lean or rich as I do not see a wideband at all in your mod list, without one or some kind of logging tool it is pretty difficult to know how your motor is running

I'll answer your question about how to pull the code. You get either a 12v buzzer or a analog multimeter and hook it up to pins 1 and 12 in your OBD1 port and read the swipes of multimeter or count the buzz's. Yes, on the 1g I believe all the codes besides 2 I think are stored in the ECU with light off or on.

You can pick up a 12v buzzer at a radio shack for 2-4 bucks. Best diagnostic tool I've gotten in a while. If you have a repair manual it will have the procedure of pulling the code with a analog multimeter and it will give a chart of the codes.

Cool thanks for the info on that. Ill go down and grab one tomorrow and see what codes are pulled
