I actually think this looks WAAAAY better in my opinion. So to have it clocked downward is it more or less work. I was confused as to which was requires the least amount of grinding.

You have to grind part of the knuckle to have them clocked upward, but it took me like half an hour and i think its worth the extra time

I think it looks good but I don't know if I'm going to go through with the extra trouble. Nice rims, I have the same one. Are they painted or coated?

Here's to clear up the confusion.

-1g clocked upward and only possible way, no modding to the knuckles is needed.

-2ga clocked downward no modding to the knuckles. To clock it upward, grinding work to top part of knuckles is needed.

-2gb clocked downward will require a little bit of grinding at the bottom of the knuckles to swing the bracket into place. To clock it upward instead of grinding at the bottom you grind the top part but this require much more work.

Either way you will have some kick ass brakes.

I had a set of the old style brackets sitting around for about a year and I finally got around to installing them. these are the ones that require putting the front knuckles on a mill and clearing away a lot of material.

I don't know if kmv still makes these brackets but there is a lot of work involved in prepping the knuckles and they have to come off the car. Next time I am underneath the car I will get some pictures of the back side of the knuckles with the brackets on them. I meant to get comparison pictures when the knuckles were being machined but I was slacking.

I know the process of putting them on, and have a spare set of knuckles to use. I just like these more than the newer design.

On the 2gb knuckles, what bolt hole are you tapping, and whats the tap. I got my brackets and I can see them fitting either way, but the 14x1.5 tap just seems gigantic for the hole the way it sits. I just want to know what you guys used. Earlier in thread someone mentioned a 12mm tap also. q

He meant m14 because he did use that m14 bolt I gave him.
The stock hole is the perfectly size for m14 x 1.5 tap.

Nice, a brake swap done right without the calipers being clocked off to some odd angle.

I know this might sound crazy, but i am willing to bet that the Ferrari on the last page has the caliper where it does for a reason. The reason is to move as much weight as possible down low and inside the wheelbase. On a DSM the caliper is already outside of the wheelbase why not atleast move it down? I am doing this swap for the braking power not the looks maybe thats why i am more worried with performance than looks.

Ferrari and supercars do that kind of stuff because "every little bit counts" enables them to have such a high price tag. I think it looks purely ridiculous to have the calipers not exactly on 90 degrees aside from the tiny gain. It's not like a Ferrari is a race car.

Thanks KMV! Nice to finally see some pictures. I'm still not sure if I want to do this or swap on the knuckles from my 96.

They do look nice, what rims are those KMV? Also some questions 2ga knuckle no grinding if you clock it down right? No usdm galant knuckle will work only jdm right? And the 2ga and jdm galant knuckle will bolt straight up to a 2gb? Correct me if im wrong i was reading the thread but it got a bit confusing:confused:

2ga and 2gb knuckles are interchangeable. The rims I have are BBS forged off the current sti.
