Wanting to have my Valve cover chromed but I bet its expensive, so I was thinking about having it powder coated in the "almost chrome" finish..I know its not the same but was wondering if that finish looks more like silver paint or a polished metal look. Anyone have anything done is the almost chrome finish? thanks

I see wheels on a regular basis that are powdercoated chrome. They look okay...but since no one takes care of cleaning and waxing they're rims they start to peel and bubble. (From a local cheapo company)

I'd recommend bonehead performance since they seem to do very good work.

If you get it properly chromed by hand then you can wet sand and keep it cleaner yourself and less worries for peeling/bubbles and scratched on the painted/dipped! Its not that expensive all you have to do is ask around someone knows a chromer. But for what you pay getting it dipped it might only cost a little extra bucks or less sometimes getting it done properly! Just an idea there is a company called spectra chrome in florida I think tampa bay but not sure, they have really good chrome and it really comes out chrome as I've watched many dvd's and people use that stuff so check them out on the net and see what shops can help you out hope this helps you.

me and a buddy do powdercoating on the side and we have done several things in so called chrome....we explain it as a polished silver more then chrome. there is a liquid spray that is the same basic process as powdercoating but its alot more expensive....im not sayin it doesnt look good but it doesnt look like chrome hahahah.

I had some parts done by Carlos @ TCC in shiny silver. I don't have the pictures just yet but I can post them when they return to my home if you're interested in seeing how they came out.

When I worked at JNZ Finishing a few months back I powdercoated all my coolant, IC piping, and some minor other things in an Ultimate Chrome but I never got around to taking pictures. Sorry LOL.
