I'm not sure what you are looking for. Good enough for what? Off what you said looks like i would get (if you dont already have) 1-boost gauge 2-wideband 3-an afpr 4-some kind of tuning device (safc, ecmlink) 5- depending on your power you might want to consider an upgraded clutch 6-an oil/egt gage as well b/c the stock ones are crap and than bigger o2 housing and turbo back exhaust to help with flow. There can be alot more on the list depending on your personal goals though

None of those mods are good enough until you recirculate your BOV.

i have the boost guage , not hoooked up yet (a/f ratio, oil pressure). what would i need to help tune it? i also have a greddy type s bov im about to put on tonight.. when im done i want to reach 400hp

Well you have to hook up your boost gauge before you even consider putting a boost controller on. and secondly you are going to need a dsmlink to reach that goal and a bigger turbo along with a lot of other things. With a big 16g and only 550 injectors you are going to come up way short.

Recirc your BOV unless you are running a Blow through maf after the BOV, or Speed Density. You need some sorta fuel managment, Link, DSMaps, or even a SAFC.

You are going to need to do alot of research and reading about these cars before you do much of anything, 400whp isnt going to be obtained by putting a blow off valve and a boost controller on.

First off... evo3 16gs have been recorded to hit up to 330whp or more. Yes he will need bigger injectors, and a damn good tune, but he also said 400HP.

Not WHP, if he is reffering to 400 at the crank, a evo3 16g could get him there. A big 16g and evo3 16g have 25cfm difference if i recall... at most 50cfm.

But you are going to have to get rid of that EBAY junk turbo

Well now we have something. "Is this enough to get 400 hp with a 60 trim turbo?"

Start here, Tech Guide: 1G 4G63t Upgrades - DSMtuners, and work your way up. That upgrade path is proven and it works. Follow it to a T.

That's nice that your dad is giving you that turbo, but put in on a shelf until you do the supporting mods. Fuel and tuning are the big ones. ARP headstuds will be required. Also toss the air/fuel ratio in the trash, it won't help you at all. If you want to know your air fuel ratio (which you will need when you start messing with fuel trims), get a wideband o2. Also that stock clutch won't last with your goals so you will need a performance clutch. Lastly, as stated please recirculate your BOV. I'm sure it sounds great but it is hurting your performance.

Hope this helps.

before you go putting all performance parts you should go ahead and buy a 4 layer mitsu head gasket and a set of arp headstuds so you have a oil / water milkshake imo.

ARP headstuds are a good idea, but you don't have to do the headgasket. There are better places for him to spend the money right now.

You need some way to log and tune pronto. If you don't, all that extra fuel (about 22% more) will soon wash down your cylinder wall, thin out your oil, and destroy that engine.

At this point, even an SAFC would help, but you should probably look for a little bit better tuning system if you want 400whp.

Here is a whole thread for 16g http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/drag-strip/377931-16g-drag-race-discussion-thread.html
and some of those guys are in the 10's, 11.00 with the 16g. I put down 389hp with my E316g in my last DSM. 400hp is very feasable, 400 at the crank even easier.

-and recirc the BOV +5. Every other post says recirc your BOV but you haven't said anything back...
If your shooting for 400 your going to need bigger than 1000cc injectors. Your not going to get anywhere near any of that with out tuning, and the supporting mods.... +2 on putting your dads turbo on the shelf.
GM MAF with V3, that way you can setup in blowthrough, get the pigtail to go straight to V3. There are so many options
I can't tell but do you have t-bolt clamps? If not get rid of those worm drives because if you plan on going past 20psi they don't hold for poop. Do you have a FMIC? Use the search button!!

the first day i installed my ECU ('95 recapped, socketed) DSMLink v3, 680cc injectors, and a fuel lab regulator, plumping i turned the boost to 16psi and spun my stock clutch like it was nothing.... id say get a good clutch, pressure plate, and release bearing from like ACT or something.. clutchnet, etc... dont go ballistic and order the most aggressive clutch know to man, and think you going to hobble it around on the street.. then get DSMLink and a Windows XP (At least) laptop with a good battery, and tune it!!! add deadtime, injectors size, and base fuel pressure, and it calculates the rest, and runs fine... BIG POWER!!

I would probably get a something good to tune with like dsmlink and probably a clutch
