InfiniteGSX, seems like your always pushing the whole SD thing.

Not everyone is into hardcore performance like some people... they like the sound of a VTA BOV they like the red rims on blue cars.. they like the body kits.... and most important they like DSM... give the dood a break and dont flame or hate... his car his choice... when are some of you gonna learn this... keep jumping on that bandwagon ....

OP... Your car, your choice... but the best route like some of these guys said is recirc or get the gm/maf-t

some options...

Sorry, its an addiction! I wish it upon everyone! Its a truly awesome thing. No real restrictions like the MAF Sensor. Honda had their head on straight when this subject came up. Their cars are MAP Dependant. I don't know why the MAF Sensor was soo popular on soo many cars. So Many Restrictions, and doesn't last that long before providing issues and dying. Plus lately for the price of doing that MAF Translator thing which has horrible reviews by thousands, and a GM MAF, you can spend a tad more and Go SD. Depending on what kinda car you have. 1g Eprom, I'd go with DSMAP. 2G I'd go with a 98-99 ECU and run ECUFlash like the Evo's. All working with Speed Density. Its sooo much better in the long run. You want sound out of your bov and don't care about performance, well the price your going to pay in the end, might as well care for performance and tune for it. :thumb:

I wasn't flaming, kinda. I was actually being honest. I ran a year or more with vented Crushed BOV and never once experienced any issues. I'm sure maybe in a Data Log I'd see things. But what does it really do? Screw up your Air/Fuel Mixture for a second? Maybe for hard core people that race their car that extra little bit counts but for others they like other things. I don't see how its a big problem. Everytime someone would talk shit to me about venting my BOV, I'd just tell them to shut up or put up. I wasn't being a ricer, But at the same time I wasn't being anal about it like some. People kinda act like the world is going to come to an end if someone vents.

As long as you have a BOV thats closed at idle, you shouldn't have any problems. Stock BOV uncrushed should be open at idle with a good condition motor. It was designed that way so it will bypass the Turbo and charge pipes and intercooler for better throttle response. But it was made to suck air through the MAF Sensor. So if you have a BOV thats closed at idle or a crushed 1g, car shouldn't really show any ill effect.

i agree with 96whiteTSi...not everyone is looking for the big horsepower, so SD isn't even a logical option right now. just play it safe and keep whatever BOV you have recirc'd. you CAN use the gm maf and translator, but a lot of people have to adjust the knobs a lot due to temp changes outside as well as humidity.

greddy type s is a good bov if your looking for sound, but the HKS reigns supreme VTA and recirc'd. like already posted..it's a very distinct sound.

so SD isn't even a logical option right now. you CAN use the gm maf and translator,

How is SD not a logical option but for around the same price, a pms'ing MAF Translator is? The OP Could convert to MAP Sensor for as little as 180-200 bucks. List price of the MAF Translator is 200 bucks. Used.... I just found one for 100 bucks + shipping. Then you need a MAF Sensor, Local U Pull It sells for 30 bucks. Then you gotta continuously keep things dialed in.

List price for Ostrich Emulator is 200 bucks, MAP Sensor at local yard is 5 bucks and IAT is 5 Bucks. Found a couple Ostrich Emulator 2.0's for 100 bucks. Socketing the ECU costs around 20 bucks at a local computer shop. Stock MAP's are a dime a dozen ....

So for a tad more cash than a MAF Translator, you can have both, Real Power, Clean Power, and VTA's Cool Sounds! LOL Sounds more logical to me. Especially for the long haul. Why spend money on "shit" you might be replacing in the future? You can then up your boost, the smart way. Add larger injectors, the smart way! Tune for better fuel economy. Or More Power. Hell just by tuning a stock DSM you can gain more power. Crank up that 14b to around 15-16psi (they love it) and tune for it.

Wow,some people are straight d bags here. Its sad to think he asked for suggestions, not to get bashed on because he wants to be noticed and experiment with his new found dsm, Especially on his first post. Either way, Just do some researching, Not only here, but go on youtube and check out the different eclipses, talons with different bov's. To each their own iPsych, I like the stock bov on our 1gs. and also like certain aftermarket ones. I prefer to fly under the police and not in front.

And to the others getting off subject,... do you feel defiants eyes on you?
