Any turbo's better than a Borg Warner?

I'll be placing an order tomorrow for a very cheap, brand new HX52 tomorrow. If the HX52 doesn't help me obtain my goals (God forbid, and don't know how a 90 lb/min turbo wouldn't), then I'll swap over to a Borg Warner. Thanks to Dsm-onster for the link, and everyone's feedback. I was pretty deadset on Borg Warner before this thread. Hope the turbo I get suits me well.

GZ half this thread was about me ;-)... I switched back to an hx40... car became fast again to me... ran a 10.95 @ 132.7 on street tune/tires on saturday w/ it...

I do not blame my car being slow w/ the S366 on the S366.... I believe I'm just hitting a point of restriction w/ the engine ..i.e. cams, head work, exhaust housing, intake, etc...

The S366 is super capable...although I found it a little unreliable having to rebuild it twice... i'm SUPER picky about my oil pressure, and strive to keep it under control (no more than 85psi by 8500 RPM ..) I have NO issues running holsets but that BW was just finicky ...

The HX40 matches my configuration about as well as I can imagine... I do not want to switch to anything too much more agressive as my car is still a street car ... The S366 on the 2.4 was almost too laggy on the street..I cannot imagine it on the track.vettes and cobras would get a huge jump on me before I spooled up...w/ the hx40 that is not an issue..

Karl Pritz made 700 AWHP at 37psi on the exact S366 I ran(i bought it from him) ... that was on his 2.3 .. so obviously the turbo can make power... but he was running into a restriction w/ his setup as well..

I am tossing around either selling the S366...or building a 1g race car and tossing it on that..I have a half decent shell and a spare built 2.0 laying around soo if I can get the time and motivation maybe I should do that

Okay, so I got my HX52 today. Pictures just don't do it justice as to the size. It makes my T-67 look more like a T-25. Lol. I'll try and take some pictures when I get a chance. Just would like to have something good to compare it to. And this is by far the heaviest turbo I've had to lift.

Finally got some pictures today. I haven't seen many posted on the forums at all. So hopefully this gives you guys an idea as to the size of this thing.

Bigger than Richard's head. Lol.

i know this tread is old but i havnt been on here in a while also. On our shop 2.3 galant we were using a s366 t3 with the .70 a/r hot side and made 597hp 518lbs of torque at 27psi with 17deg peak timming and only reving to 7k. car also made 565hp at 24psi, the main issue was we were out of fuel at 565hp and turned the boost up just to see what it does. the s366 is a beast and great on pump gas, on my mirage with a stock evo8 fmic car made 450hp at 22psi at 5500rpm and held flat till 8k. the issue with that was the fmic, it hit a wall at 450hp and with a better intercooler i would have seen better results. if your not making 600+hp at 30+psi its your setup not the turbo.
