I think the obvious thing to ask here is the following.

1- What is your HP goal?

2- What is your goal with the car?

let me know and we'll go from there.

For starters, use the search.

To run a 35r at its potential, plan on upgrading just about everything.
Engine needs to be built, head, clutch, transmission, fuel system, engine management.

Then plan on breaking axles, transmission and transfercases

Maybe he's overshooting really bad, some people want to run big turbos but want a horsepower goal of 400whp. Let's see what he has to say.

oh and yeah, you just about summed it up for that 35R LOL.

Hey fellow DSM'er, we're waiting for you to tell us what your plans are for the car. The HTA35r basically puts you in a different category of car and just like some of the fellahs have already stated, that turbo will certainly require you to build just about everything. I'm not aware of your financial status so we'll just stand by and wait patiently.

Hey guys thanks a lot 400 hp is around where I want to be. What setup would you reccommend me going with? I see too many talons with 16g turbos and I want to go bigger. I have plenty of money so what should I go with as internals front mount and trubo?? thanks guys

If you state that 400whp is your goal with the fact that the 16G/20G turbos have made that power level, then why state you want to have a larger turbo? If it's been proven with those turbos, then it seems as if your plans/goals aren't matching what you stated. The HTA35r is a beast of a turbo and capable of well over 600whp+. So seriously, what are your real-life goals and intended uses of the car?

The above post is basically what I was gonna say. However the biggest I'll go for 400whp is FP Green. Easily do 400 and you have room for the day you want more.

At altitude a t3/4 50trim would get you at 400 whp on race gas or e85.
A 16g wont, most people trap 110mph on the evoIII 16g up here.

If the tune is good the stock 6bolt bottom end can handle 400-450whp. With a 7 bolt I wouldnt go more then 400whp unless you want to take your chances.

Seriously though, use the search and see what everyone is running for supporting modification with those turbos. It has been done many many time before.

I would Run a FP 68HTA for a 400hp goal its sleeper :thumb:

My brother and I both run stock 7 bolt blocks and make good power my brother more then I he made 470 AWHP on stock block with 174,xxx miles just make sure you have a good tune!!!!!! So they can hold power but you will need to build everything in time or as you break it.

Oh and what 35R are you wanting to run?

3586?
3582?

on who's dyno?

Probably English's... Isn't it a requirement to hit 400 on his dyno? Lol

By comparing the high 10-second time in the quarter mile and assuming that the car is slightly less than OEM weight (which it is), you can easily determine how much power the car is making.

There are tons of threads on the 35r and its capabilities, search and you shall find what parts will fit your goals and plans.

Cool thats a potent little sleeper turbo

He is running a T67

But the HTA68 should be able to make the same amount of power as his car does with more boost but I was just saying that a stock 7 bolt can make good power I just dont know for how long it will like it  LOL JK

I wish I had bught one back in the day insted of a T67 (that still needs to be installed) that way I could tell everyone I have a lame little 16g and then blow there doors off :D LOL

I'm not trying to be rude, my friend but in all honesty I can't see why there's even discussion about comparing the 68HTA and HTA35r. We are talking about two entirely different turbos that are designed for their own unique purposes. The bottom line is that you should make a firm decision as to what your realistic goals are for you car and then plan accordingly.

i would go with a 57 p style trim, thats what im running and its a mean turbo. its got great daily drivablity and get up and go power as well. and its capable of 500 HP. think its a great all around turbo. on 18 psi im making 325 hp and on 30 PSI im some where around 400HP with all the supporting mods. :thumb:

thanks guys. Sorry about being unclear about my goals but I want to be at atleast 400hp I dont want that to be my max so lets say between 400 -550 max I want a turbo that will get up and go with that power but also a good daily driver as well if that makes sense...

Are you talking about a T3/TO4E 57 Trim? with a P trim exhaust wheel? I don't know but my 50 trim hated that P trim, I put the stage III wheel and I must've picked up like 100whp (exaggeration) and at least 400-500 RPM's of powerband. If we are talking about the same turbo, a P trim wheel is a mis-match.

bro the HTA35R would be a great turbo, however for 400-550 it can be done with many turbos, HTA35R been one of them. You're along the right track, I'll see if I can do some research of my own and give you a few other suggestions.
